i have to get in bed before 12, after that for some reason i just stay up for hours jus thinkn. My clock is hella bright too with no dim feature and its green, and that smoke alarm light drives me crazy too. I cant have any lights on when im sleeping, none. I also close all the blinds, and the closet. Usually i sleep at 11:45 thats perfect for me. Oh and i have my clock 15 minutes ahead for no reason either, but its helpin me a lot n the morning. Its like when its 7:00 i dont go, oh shit im late, i just say i got 15 minutes left and i rush.
