Took out my 2 12" subs and amp when I sold my vehicle, and although I now have more room...I also need more room. Looking to have 1 12" sub and an amp. I'd like maximum power...on a budget. Not looking for Sony Xplod or whatever's on sale at Walmart, but also not looking at a w7...unless you got one real cheap.

I've never had anything but 2 12's, and always booming bass, so I still want that, but with 1 sub.

Thanks for any help.

One of the best subs for the price is an Alpine Type-R you can get one for around $120. I would pair that with a Hifonics amp since they are usually some of the best budget amps. The thing about a Type R is that they can take a lot more power than they are rated for, I have heard of people giving them up to 1000W RMS without trouble. I am planing on getting Type R when I have the money since I want some cheap bass and already have an amp that is rated at 600W RMS. Take a look at sonicelectronix.com they usually have some of the best prices.

If not the RE audio I would going to recommend the Diamond Audio D612D4 paired with a hifonics BXI1606D. The amp is a refurb but sonicelectronix is selling it through ebay with a 1 year warranty. I would do it if it was me. 1600w with a 1yr warranty or there is another one on ebay refurb with a 3yr warranty 199.99 free ship.

Diamond is supposed to be better than the Type R and if you have the money I would go with the Diamond sub. With the amps I know that Phoenix Gold has a really good reputation but the Hifonics amp has a lot more power (1100W RMS @ 2 Ohms). For either of these subs you only need about 600W RMS so either amp would get the job done.

if you can find it, get the Kicker classic Solo-Baric (the round one's, not the square one's) the pair i had, didn't have that web lookin feel to it. it was all cone. them shit's bumped hella hard. the weather was so hot, it burned the coil in one of the speakers. i didn't even want to fuck around with that, so got rid of that set and moved on to my next box of Digital Audio's.

^^^hell yea the solobarics used to be round and they were awesome subs... but then kicker went and flushed thier business down the toilet and released those piece shit square ones. The subs you are speaking on are the Kicker Solo Baric S15C and are some pretty respectable subs if you can find a pair. I would check craigslist and ebay to start.

Went with the Alpine Type-X and the Hifonics amp that I posted...couldn't be better. Thanks for all the help, guys.

How does the Type X sound? I never seen one in real life but from reviews it seems like they are rediculous...I haven't seen em for less than 400 a piece though an that's not "budget" imo...where'd you get it?
