I'm no big Kemp fan nor ever a Sonics fan, but lets be honest with ourselves. The man was fantastic a dunking. To say he had no place being critical of a dunk is unreasonable. Do Dr. J, Dominique Wilkins, Jordan, get to be critical of people's dunks? He helped evolve the dunk to where it is today and what he did in games, come on.

Plus I agree with him.

No matter how much coke he snorted or how many bitches he got pregnant, he's absolutely right bout it.

It ain't like he went on air JUST to talk shit or somethin which would make sense for folks hating but during the interview, he was ASKED bout it n gave an honest answer.

Pretty much everyone else agrees wit kemp on how weak that dunk was to win the contest. He got a 50 for that dunk, right? But ibakas first dunk was actually before the free-throw line n got a 45, that's bullshit!

The dunk contest was all hype n the NBA already had griffin as the winner regardless of anyone elses dunk. Shit was fixed. There's no way Ibaka only got a 45 on his first dunk, I mean yeah a lot of folks have done the free-throw dunk but if u actually watch the previous players who tried the dunk, almost all of em passed the free-throw line. Shit, even the originator, Dr. J passed the free throw line.

It wasn't the dunk that won him the contest. It was the creativity! Just like when Nate Robinson won for jumpin over Dwight Howard. It was the "Wow" factor! I mean come on nobody actually used a car let alone had a dude oop out the sun roof! I think Kemp was dope and i agree he has a right to critisize and yes the physics of the dunk was not that impressive. If it were up to me i would make it so they were'nt aloud to use props but thats just me...

Its funny that dude thinks that this was a legit contest.
It was done in LA, Blakes home, of course he won. And of course Kobe got the MVP.

Welcome to the world of entertainment. They said, "hey blake, want to jump over a car to win the dunk contest" what you think blake was gonna say, no?

It was scripted.

Ex-NBA star Vin Baker arrested on alcohol charge

NORWICH, Conn. (AP) — Former NBA All-Star Vin Baker, whose 14-year NBA career was marred by bouts of depression and alcoholism, was charged early Tuesday with drunken driving after leaving an eastern Connecticut casino.
Baker, 35, was spotted driving erratically after leaving Foxwoods Resort Casino, according to a state police report. He failed a sobriety test and was charged with driving while impaired, police said.

State police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance described Baker's demeanor as cooperative.

A four-time All-Star forward who attended the University of Hartford, Baker averaged 15.0 points and 7.4 rebounds. The 6-foot-11 forward was a member of the gold medal-winning Olympic team in 2000 and enjoyed his best seasons with Milwaukee and Seattle.

Baker's alcoholism forced the Boston Celtics to cut him midway through the 2003-04 season. He later admitted drinking in his hotel room after playing poorly and showing up to practice with alcohol on his breath.

Baker, who lives in Durham, was released on $500 bond and is due in court June 26.

Clippers star Blake Griffin is on such a roll that he won the Slam Dunk contest ahead of participating. The NBA sent out a press release BEFORE the contest started announcing that Griffin was the winner.

The NBA sent out an itinerary for the NBA All-Star Jam Session presented by Adidas on Sunday Feb. 20 It ran down the highlights of the day.

In this official media advisory it listed the “KROQ BLAKE GRIFFIN SHOWCASE” from 1:20 pm to 2:00 pm with the following description: “Five middle school students will showcase their dunking talents in front of 2011 NBA Sprite Slam Dunk Contest winner Blake Griffin.”

Nothing wrong with this right? Except for the fact that the release was sent via email at 5:28 pm PST on Saturday Feb. 19, over an hour before the Slam Dunk contest’s scheduled 6:30 pm PST start...
