jamarcus will be the starter from start to finish IF the o-line holds up. Plus we are gonna be a run heavy team so russel just needs to play a roethlisberger type game of handing the ball off and use the tight end (miller) and take shots down field with schilens and dhb, jlh, and maybe javon walker can earn his money and be that possesion receiver that we need.

garcia may give us a better chance right now because of his experience but this is about developing a team for years to come. it's good to have a veteran like garcia as insurance.

to you saying russell is showing signs of being a bust, get the fuck out of here with that shit. last time he was on the field he won two games in a row and managed the game like a veteran. the signs you are seeing ar just the hater blood running through your veins.

Saw a pretty decent segment on the NFL network last night about who's in and gonna be watching from the sidelines. Of course I want Russell in there throughout the season. We didnt go and spend all that cash on him to be benched ala Alex Smith. yea yea big deal I said Alex Smith cause they also talked about the team from the other side in the bay and well Shaun Hill is the heavily favored to bring the team out for the first offensive snaps.

But I like the added effort Jamarcus is doing as far as taking his role serious, its like a lion backed up in a corner, sooner or later hes gonna take charge and strike hard. Too much talk of bust. Let the man play, this is his make or break season. Garcia didnt sign to be a starter, he signed with us to help out wherever he can and be the backup in case Russell gets hurt.

Tomorrow ya'll the Raiders get together and start camp!!!!

i think we should seriously think about signing michael vick, at a cheap price......

im not sold on jamarcus russel but i definately want him to start the season, especially after all that money the organization spent.......dude could be a bust or just maybe he can manage the game with a bomb or too........with that heavy run offense.......the problem is that he turns the ball over when he's hit...and he's not very mobile

garcia would remind you of gannon imo, quick short passes with play maker abilites.......def knows how to manage a game but dude gets hurt every year......he is also on the tail end of his career.....

that's why i say sign vick, let dude backup while he get conditioning right........let him practice.......learn the offense...theres no gaurantee's with our other 2 quarterbacks so lets sign vick, he's young, talented, and an ex star in the nfl.........

Jeff Garcia confirmed that he is in Oakland to "push" and teach JaMarcus Russell, but says he's still practicing to be the Raiders' starter.
"I don’t believe I’m a backup quarterback by any means," said Garcia, 39, although he promised to "not stir the pot" even if he "makes certain decisions hard" for coach Tom Cable. Russell remains locked in as Oakland's starter.
