Russell needs to get in shape and stay in shape, he does need to embrace his role as a leader more! I'm behind Russell but he does need to show more dedication. I'm cool with Garcia playing if Russell plays like shit, week in and week out, but I don't see that happening!
I hope you're right... I'm kind of in the middle

it seems like a lot of Raiders fans feel Russel is gonna do good this year... and most non-Raiders fans are already calling him a bust

I'm pretty much holding judgment until I see him out there this season... he showed me something last season... but not enough to say he's gonna be a consistently good QB yet

I think a lot depends on our running game... we need the RB's to shine so defenses will have to take pressure off the pass and allow Russell to do his thing

I'm pretty confident that they can pull through... hopefully Lorenzo Neal can help out blocking for our backs... because we were lacking last season at the FB position which hurt the running game a little bit... I haven't really been following the team much lately... is Oren O'Neal still hurt? I hope he can play... if we can have Neal and O'Neal healthy and all 3 RB's healthy... maaan it will be lights out... we're pounding the rock down peoples fucking throats

the pics that i seen of russell, he was literally wearing 3-4 layers of clothes. 2 long-sleeved shirts. dont into this media circus surrounding his weight. he moves good and has a cannon. if he can pick up where he left off last year, we have ourselves a QB.

I get these text message alerts on my phone sometimes with Raiders news because I have NFL Mobile Live... and I got one that said Russell admitted to being overweight... I didn't get on and read the whole thing, so I dunno the details... but I'm just sayin though

I don't believe in everything the media says... but at the same time there's probably a reason why it's said... I'm sure shit is exaggerated... especially regarding the Raiders because we get hated on... but still...

RUSSEL WILL BE FINE. DUDE IS FUCKIN 6'5" AND 240+ POUNDS. HE AINT NEVER GONNA HAVE A WASH BOARD STOMACH. BIG BEN HAS A GUT TOO. CONDITIONING IS OVERRATED AT THE QB POSITION. IT'S MORE MENTAL THAN ANYTHING.

IMO we dont have the personnel for jamarcus' cannon of an arm, and his touch passes are non existant.

none of our receivers are gonna burn a DB, and Jamarcus refuses to scramble out of the pocket to get those lil bit of yards instead of making a dumb pass or gettn sacked.

i think garcia, along w bush and mcfadden in backfield, could successfully move the ball down the field and score. i'd like to see em swoop up vick and run different packages with him....he'd be waaaay better then the clipboard carrier we got now. just his presence on the field will open up opportunities for other palyers, and besides, the parking lots already filled w wierdos, whats a few protesters? good luck with that. hahaha

well DHB could probably burn a DB... well... granted that he runs his routes I guess... we just gotta make sure he can catch the ball... especially with JR's cannon of an arm

JR doesn't have touch passes? He's got nice touch, maybe too much at times. None of our receivers will burn a DB? Huh....

Higgins burned DB's last year, and DHB has the speed to burn some DB's.

I GOTTA DISAGREE WITH YOU HERE, BETO. BOTH DHB AND JOHNNY LEE HIGGINS CAN AND WILL BURN DB'S. AND DON'T FORGET THAT MCFADDEN WILL BE CATCHING THE BALL OUTTA THE BACKFIELD ON A GANG OF PLAYS AND IS CAPABLE OF BURNIN DAMN NEAR ANYONE ON THE FIELD.

From watching the Raiders games last season it seemed the biggest problem was pass protection and stupid penalties (Kwame Harris being the biggest offender).

Yeah Kwame Harris was a repeat offender. He would either get beat by whoever he was supposed to block or as soon as we'd get into the redzone he'd start jumping offsides. I remember a few games he had done it back to back and Russell (as quiet as he is) had to light into Kwame.

yeah... and run defense and red zone offense... red zone offense was horrible

I can't even tell you how many times I was yelling at my tv after watching the Raiders get to the 10 yard line like it's the easiest thing in the world... then choke in the red zone and kick another damn field goal

yeah I'm not even a raiders fan and it was frustrating to watch that shit.

With JR I say keep him in there, he is an investment and will get better and with a fast guy like Bey in the squad it's two future weapons.
