westphal is a good coach. the biggest problem for the kings aside from needing upgrades at 4 of 5 positions is the maloofs keep hiring and firing coaches before they have any real chance to implement their system/philosophy. it fucks the team over when they have to learn and more importantly, buy into a new system every year. the maloofs need to quit interfering and just let petrie do his job

Lakers assistant coach Kurt Rambis says that he turned down the Kings' head coaching job before it went to Paul Westphal.
Kings president Geoff Petrie said unequivocally, "The only person who was offered this job was Paul Westphal." Rambis shot back, calling the Kings a "project team" before adding, "That team...is a ways away from winning. They have holes on their roster." He's right, of course.
