Five Oakland men were arraigned Monday on charges of robbing a Pinole bank, and authorities investigated whether they were responsible for a string of other holdups.

Clyde Jamerson, 30; Ocie Howard, 27; Shylow Therman, 24; James Branch, 30; and Dequan Patterson, 23, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Wayne Brazil in Oakland.

They were charged with robbing the Bank of America at 1221 Tara Hills Drive in Pinole at gunpoint on Jan. 17 as Oakland police and the FBI had them under surveillance.

Branch wanted to rob a bank to get funds to travel to Los Angeles to meet with music producer Suge Knight, FBI Special Agent Nancy Duncan wrote in an affidavit.

During the Pinole robbery, an Oakland police officer fired a shot, but no one was hit.

or maybe the whole suge thing is bullshit and was used to get a big media uproar so they are all guarenteed convictions? Cus one of them HAD TO TALK to let the feds no about the suge shit...

if not, i'm glad they got caught... their dumb asses deserved it... lazy triflin ass muthafuckas could've took on a part time job for 2 weeks and paid for that shit, plus have enough funds to visit disneyland or something... or if you don't want your 'thug image' to be tarnished, then sell some weed or somethin, there's a much smaller chance you would've gotten caught... it don't cost no more than $300 to drive out there for the weekend, gas food and lodging included... what the fuck were they thinkin?? they shoulda known that bank robbers are the criminals most likely to get caught up
