haha shows how horrible of a franchise the raiders are, how do you draft a guy in the THIRD round and cut him the same year. Great scouts they have in oakland

OUCH!

"Frampton was a fifth-round pick in the 2007 draft. Boothe was a sixth-round selection in 2006. Hawthorn was a sixth-round pick in 2005. Francis was a fourth-round pick in 2004.

The Raiders also put running back Michael Bush, a fourth-round selection in 2007, on the non-football injury list. And this means that the Raiders currently are without their first-round pick (holdout JaMarcus Russell), a third-round pick, a fourth-round pick, and a fifth-round pick from barely four months ago. RAIDERS DUMP DARIUS

The Oakland Raiders have released safety Donovin Darius, a first-round pick in 1998 who was cut by the Jaguars and signed in the offseason.

Other veterans cut by the Raiders were fullback Zack Crockett, tight end O.J. Santiago, defensive end Josh Shaw, tackle Chad Slaughter, and receiver Alvis Whitted.

The following Raiders were placed on waivers: tight end James Adkisson, center Jesse Boone, guard Kevin Boothe, linebacker Kurt Campbell, defensive back Marquice Cole, safety Eric Frampton, receiver Carlos Francis, punter/kicker Tyler Fredrickson, defensive tackle Anttaj Hawthorne, receiver Chris McFoy, defensive end Quentin Moses, linebacker Kyle Shotwell, defensive end Dave Tollefson, and tackle Mark Wilson.

Frampton was a fifth-round pick in the 2007 draft. Boothe was a sixth-round selection in 2006. Hawthorn was a sixth-round pick in 2005. Francis was a fourth-round pick in 2004.

Jay Richardson was playing better then Moses, but its still suprising they cut him. The reason they cut crockett is cause the rookie O'neal has been impressing the coaches with his blocking skills and they already have Justin Griffith.

LANE LIVID ABOUT ROSTER MOVES

A source with knowledge of the situation tells us that Raiders coach Lane Kiffin is fuming about the final round of roster cuts in Oakland. Though we don't know of any specific moves about which Kiffin is particularly upset, we're told that the bulk of the moves is evidence that owner Al Davis still has a significant amount of influence over the football operation.

Even when what Davis wants conflicts with the wishes of his head coach.

But what's Kiffin gonna do about it? He's a guy who was on no one's radar screen as an NFL head-coaching candidate at the end of the 2006 season, and his selection for the gig likely was influenced by the fact that he'd go along to get along.

Despite the perception that, because Kiffin took the job no one wanted, he must not be very good, we've heard from several media types who are impressed with the former USC assistant. In our view, the mere fact that he didn't shrug in response to moves dictated from above tell us that Lane is his own man.

It might get him fired from his current job, but it could help him land his next job.
