CAN SOMEONE HOOK ME UP WITH ALL THE INFORMATION ABOUT PLAYSTATION 2 ONLINE USING THE DIAL UP CONNECTION. WHAT DO I NEED TO GET CONNECTED ?? HOW MUCH DOES IT COST ETC. AND DO I HAVE TO BE A CURRENT BROADBAND CUSTOMER ALREADY TO USE IT FOR PLAYSTATION. ( WHICH IS WHY I WANT INFO ON THE DIAL UP CONNECTION ) ANY INFORMATION IS MUCH APPRECIATED.

well i know my dad tried to buy my son a generic ass network adaptor from tha shack after i told him to only buy sony... the generic didnt have dial up capability.. other than that once we got tha sony adaptor it was super easy.. we had fun tryin to get his 'face in the game' on THUG tho...he looked hella deformed..lol..but yeah my kids a net fiend like me now...grrreeaatt...somebody kiss the man that invented the gateway and the wireless router...as it is we're boxing over our 1 ethernet cord...lol..

well shit it i edited it but musta 4got to hit a button...all u need is an existing email account as long as u have the real ps2 network adaptor.. but its gonna be slow on dial up..just plug it in and follow...ps2 online is still free...

SO SINCE I GOT AOL 9.0 ON MY COMPUTER ALL I HAVE TO DO IS GET THE SONY NETWORK ADAPTER AND THATS IT ???? IM HOOKED UP FOR GOOD ??? NO HIDDEN FEES OR NOTHING ??? NO EXTRA SHIT, SOUNDS TOO EASY. AND ABOUT IT BEING SLOW, I WAS ONLINE W/ DREAMCAST BACK IN THE DAY AND IT WASNT THAT BAD, JUST A LITTLE BIT OF SLOWDOWN. BUT I CAN TOLERATE THAT.

you get the adapter and you need hi speed interent (dsl/cable) to really get online and enjoy it....

you can buy thew sony one, or get a cheap one from eBay (there about $10-$15 on ebay, sony one is 29.99)

dreamcast online was horrible with dialup....lol

there no monthy service charge....as long as you have hi speed, you just connect the wire to the back of the ps2... there a installation disc with the sony one that sets shit up for you...

like i said the ps2 adaptor works with dial up... just check if u get an off-brand one if it has both phone and ethernet jacks...cuz not all of em do

depends on the games... most of the newer games are broadband only. it will tell you on the front of the cover and back as well.

if you really want to enjoy online gaming like mustynutz said, try and get broadband. lots of folks even boot out peeps with 56k modems because they cause more lag in games.

just about all the games are free online, then there's games like everquest, final fantasy online that will charge a monthly fee to play. but there's no hidden fees bullshit like that.

i was thinkin of gettin x box live, but im cheap. if ps 2 is free besides the adapter im goin to get it. i already have wireless dsl, would that hook up to the ps2 adapter?

YOUR SET BUT YOU SHOULD JUST GET LIVE.... IF ANYTHING GET ONE OF THEM 2 MONTH FREE TRIALS AND CHECK OUT LIVE BEFORE YOU DECIDE ON PS2..... I MIGHT HAVE ONE OF THOSE LAYING AROUND HERE SO IF YOU NEED ONE PM ME....

so far no way to make the ps2 wireless huh??..i hate having cords now...is there a wireless slot on the xbox???? i bet the ps3 will have a wireless card buil in but how much....
