Blakagir - Nostalgia



This is a side project of the only member of the Polish symphonic black metal band Hellveto. There is no metal (or instruments besides a keyboard), it is just a dark keyboard symphony. I listen to music because I want it to take me somewhere, music is essentially my vehicle for fantasy. Nostalgia makes me think of cold, dark, medieval battlefields, musky medieval buildings, etc. It's got such amazing atmosphere and because it's essentially classical music, it's got...well, class.

Sun Ra- New Steps

The Jazz musician from Saturn known as Sun Ra has such a huge discography that its pretty hard to figure out where to start or where to go next when picking out one of his cd's to listen to. New Steps is a fairly rare album that i feel has a great solid sound and also has one of my favorite songs on it, Where There is No Sun.

Smoke is a band from Atlanta headed by Benjamin Smoke, a gravely voiced cross dresser, backed by a cello, banjo, guitar, and trumpet player, as well as some other instruments. Smoke is what Tom Waits pretends to be. This album and there other one, Another Reason to Fast, are both great albums but i felt this album was just slightly stronger as an album while the other one just has a few of my favorite songs, if that makes sense.

I love this Bad Brains E.P. Every single song on here is great. It may not rock as hard as the ROIR Sessions but I think thats why I like it so much. Favorite song off here is Stay Close to Me, a great combination of punk and reggae

Pixies- Surfer Rosa

This probably has to be in my top 3 greatest albums of all time. The Pixies helped create the alternative genre with there quite loud dynamic later taken by bands like Nirvana. To me this is probably the best of The Pixies albums with its raw energy and stripped down production I just thoroughly enjoy every part of this album.
