So things have been a little stale around here so I thought we should start a thread to post up some of our favorite albums for others to check out. Maybe give it a little write up on what you like so much about the album or if you want just leave a link. It's up to you.

I'll be back in a few with one of mine.

Malady - Self Titled

http://www.mediafire.com/?9yybmlxygne

This album was released in the fall of 2004 and the band consisted of ex members of pg99 and City of Caterpillar. To me I think this album is what grunge would have sounded like if stuck around and kept reinventing itself to stay fresh sounding. I think it was RJ's friend who said something along the lines of 'they sound like Nirvana on steroids and if Kurt was really fucking pissed off.' I can listen to this album from front to back and then start it over again and do the same once again. Since I first heard it a few years back it's become one of my favorite albums and it's easily in my top 10 of all time. They only put out one album before dissolving but what one hell of a album it is.

War all the Time by Thursday.

http://rapidshare.com/files/107274698/Thursday_-_War_All_The_Time.rar
One of the most inspirational albums I heard this decade. a lot of shit was going on with me and the songs had relevance to most of them girlfriend having an abortion (Marches and Maneuvers) A gay friend of mine got murdered cuz he was gay (M Shepard) I was questioning my faith in general (Asleep in a Chappel)
Anyone get real down with Thursday in this side of the board?

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless

http://rapidshare.com/files/103051000/MyBldyVlntn-LvlssV0.rar

This record is Kevin Shields' masterpiece. Over two years his band recorded this album in almost 20 studios and had their label drop them for the difficulty and expense of working with him. But out of all that we get what is easily the greatest shoegaze album of all time and influnced so many artists that it's not even funny. This album is made for you to sit back (maybe load a bong bowl to) and turn your stereo up to 11 and just be blown away by.

Johann Sebastian Bach - The Harpsichord Concertos

Who doesn't like Bach? This is his best work IMO, as I am a sucker for the harpsichord and the melodies on here are unmatched by any other harpsichord work, ever. This is from the Baroque era, which basically means the songs don't have a "climax", which would be highlighted in the Classical era. This is an album I use when doing homework or for ambiance during dinner parties. If you like this album, check out some of Vivaldi's work. He is another Baroque era writer/composer. I like this album more than the Brandenburg Concertos, which some consider to be Bach's greatest work.

This version is interpreted by Trevor Pinnock, who is considered to be one of the best harpsichord players in the world. It actually came out in the 80's, but was put back out in 2003, supposedly re-mastered. Anyhow, enjoy!
