Hmm, I think you're confused about something. I just listed Hopkins & Armstrong who fought at weights which are not true weight classes, they are catchweights. What is hard to understand?

::edit::

and like naner said a weight class is an agreed upon maximim weight limit, it's not a seperate weight class. Pac fighting Margarito at 150 is still a junio middleweight fight because jr. middleweight is 148-154.

FACE IT PAC IS A DISGRACE TO THE SPORT
lol wow sure man. Pac's resume and accomplishments are pretty amazing.

What are you talking about? Do you understand what a weight class is? If a fight takes place anywhere between 141-147 it is a welterweight fight because that's within the limits of the division. WW isn't only 147lbs so a catchweight at 145lbs isn't a created division it's a contract set for a maximum within the limits of a division.

Bernard Hopkins fought Pavlik & Wright in catchweight bouts one for his LHW title. It happens all the time and typing in caps doesn't make you right homie.

dookie, now you're just living up to your user name. That's pure haterism. Regardless of the pure hate and trollin, and because I'm bored:

-He beat JMM and got a draw the first time (even though the first bout, on of the judges admitted to incorrectly scoring the first round, which would have gave Pacquiao the win).

-He moved up from 130 pounds to 147 to fight Oscar. Regardless if Oscar was washed up and/or dehydrated, Oscar challenged Pacquiao and was a heavy favorite not only to beat Pacquiao but to knock him out.

-Hatton was coming off of TWO wins (Lazcano and his career best win against Malignaggi) when Pac fought him. Hatton was 45-1.

-Cotto lost one fight in his career to Margarito. He afterwords beat Jennings, then Clottey and captured the WBO WW belt i.e he was a champion when Pac fought him. Cotto was 34-1.

-Pacquiao didn't allow Clottey to punch back.

-Margarito fight is only happening because Floyd Mayweather is not willing to fight Pacquiao in 2010. If Floyd would only man up no one would be talking about Margarito.

You're getting schooled in this debate though dookie so keep it comin

Dude i am not sayin to ignore the body!!! but being much taller he would benefit by fighting tall!!!!! yes a body jab is great but you are not pac neither were ur opponents!!! Margarito will get caught every time they meet at an eye level!!
Lol. You dont know what I'm talking about. I know you think of a jab to the body is bringing your head level to the other persons but that is not it. Your head actualy is lower and your extended jab is longer than your opponents counter hook or uppercut. It's the second most safest punch after the straight jab. It halts a smaller man right in the pit of his stomach...it's even affective for shorter fighters to use against taller fighter. If you cant reach his head jab for his body enough times and it will bring him down to you off a fient. If your next response doesn't enlighten me I'm going to let this subject go and get back with you after the fight so we can analyze what happened.

I'm not sure I'm following your logic. A straight jab to the body, for the most part is used to get your opponent to drop his hands, and create openings. Again, a taller fighter is going to be most effective fighting tall.

A taller person jabbing down to a shorter fighter's midsection, means obviously the taller fighter has to change levels, opening him up for counters, and negating his height and reach advantage. The jab to the body is used more to create openings and get reactions.

Looks like Bob Arum is trying to put Nonito Donaire vs Montiel on the undercard. If he pulls that off, damn, that's a dope card. Donaire vs Montiel is one of the best possible fights that can be made in boxing. Also keeps it Mexico vs Philippines themed. ::crosses fingers::

No fault of Donaire as a lot of guys ducked him and simply didn't want to fight. In fact if I recall correctly Montiel had a chance to fight Donaire a couple years ago but backed out for some reason.

Should be a great fight though. I would have to favor Donaire but Montiel has been on a terror lately I wouldn't be shocked if he wins.

Speaking about the card it better be a great card. Arum needs a million PPV buys so he can get that 50-50 for the Mayweather fight next year. Pac-Man should beat Stone-Hands like a drum for a 10th round TKO on cuts.

It's all about the money. Can Manny do Mayweather vs Mosley numbers? I don't know, I just think that Arum should've picked a better dance partner. If Manny doesn't do a million PPV buys, he loses all of his leverage against Mayweather. I mean all of his leverage he has to take the random drug test and the 60-40 split. So, for those reasons and the fact that this should be an all action fight until the end. I want to watch it. I'm not sold on buying it.
