plus you can find accurate information on this on the net to back it up from newspapers aswell, the mob ain't dead in the states, the 5 mob familes in ny have at least 100 made members each, not counting affiliates, there not dead

The Mafia is dead in the US. There may be MEMBERS that still run shit, but compared to what they were in the 40's and 50's on through the 80's even, they are fading and fading fast. No one gives a shit about the mafia anymore, as the drug game has been seized by those overseas and in Mexico. The Mexican mafia is more prominent as far as US's obsession with the mob goes.

of course it's not what it used to be; no one is disputing that. most are laying low, finding other means of illegal activities. russian and asian mafias are the prominent ones these days, unlike the more traditional italian mafia.
