You already know my best wishes go out to you and your family, Kirb. At least you can be thankful that you were close to your grandfather. I have a friendship with my grandfather too, and it makes him one of my best friends. I dunno what I'll do when he passes, but it'll happen eventually. To all of us. We just have to accept it and be grateful to have had those moments that made them special to us.

Best wishes bro.

Stay strong Kirby.

My grandma pretty much raised me since my mother was out abusing drugs. I was 16, when she died, at age 60, of lung cancer. Tore my world apart.

Fast forward about 10 years and my mom had stayed sober for a couple years and was actually getting her life together, when she found out she has HIV.

That was a couple years ago. She's only 48, and was just starting to become a solid grandma in my kid's lives, but now we're faced with far less chance of that being for as long as it should have been.

But, then again, what is "should have been?" All we have is what is and what will be.

RIP. .
