Come on now Miggidy... you know Floyd's dad was hatin' because he didn't get to train his son for this fight. Floyd's dad is jealous because his brother is training his son. We know who won that fight man.

Antonio Margarito

Ricky Hatton

All of these fights were brought to Floyd, and all were declined, for whatever reasons.
False! When Mayweather was at 140 the Hatton camp said themselves after they beat Tszyu that they weren't ready for Floyd, pay attention.

Margarito is a nobody, how can you duck someone who isn't on your radar?

Tszyu was through ever since Hatton moped the floor with him, at that time Mayweather had just moved up to 140, you're talking out of your ass..

It's a known fact that Bob Arum offered Floyd $8 Million to fight Margarito and Floyd declined in order to fight Baldomir. I do recall Hatton say he wasn't ready. Kostya Tszyu wanted the fight back before he fought Hatton and Stevie Johnston wanted the fight a few years back. Some of this was going on earlier in his career.

Floyd would spank all them bums you listed. If he didn't duck De La Hoya why would he duck them tomatoe cans? People gotta stop hatin' on Floyd. In the critics eyes you haven't fought anybody until you get knocked out.... Floyd whooped De La Hoya and that should be the end of it. And De La Hoya is not over the hill so stop making excuses. Just give credit where credit is due. Mayweather made him look over the hill. De La Hoya got whooped so bad he knows in his heart he doesn't want a rematch. And to the dude that said Mayweather needs to step up to a heavier weight.... Didn't he start at like 130? And then went to 147? And then he stepped up to 154 and spanked the champ and took his belt. Stop hatin' and give credit where credit is due. It was a great fight and the better "boxer" won! Mayweather should just retire because people are hatin' too much and they want to see him lose. They want to see him go in there, brawl and then get knocked out just to prove a stupid point. It's not going to happen people. If De La Hoya couldn't whoop Floyd on Cinco De Mayo give it up! Mayweather can't be beat! He's the best boxer of our era! 38-0!!

this is all truth. what a lot of people dont understand is that boxing is an artform, something that goes back thousands of years. of course they are going to build hype by telling each other they will knock each other out, thats how hype gets built, and hype=money. neither of these two are the types to go in, and start slugging each other trying to knock the other unconscious right off the bat. this wasnt the type of fight where someone would go ddown for an 8 count the first round and then the other go down for 8 count in the second round and so on......it was about boxing in its purest form. to anyone who loves the sport of boxing, this was a great fight..especially watching mayweather. he does everything perfect from the moment he steps into the ring, thats why his record is 38-0.

as far as him coming in to the ring wearing the mexican colors and the sombrero...i thought it was hilarious. i mean, there was about 10,000 jaws on the floor there. he made a huge statement and, if anything, it should have fueled oscar even more. it probably wasnt politically correct, i mean what if oscar came out on martin luther king day in a buncha kwanza type clothing. there would be the same damn public outrage, if not bigger.....but i thought it was genius. a lot of people don't give mayweather credit for how smart he is.......

LMAO

I'm talking outta my ass ?

Tszyu was the divisions true World Champion. And who did Floyd choose to fight instead ? Henry Brussels...LMAO. Then when Hatton beat Tszyu. Hatton was the true World Champion. Did Floyd fight either of these guys...?

No.

And LOL @ Margartio is a nobody. He's a top 3 contender @ 147. Plus, Bob Arum offered Floyd 8 Million to fight him.

Now, if Marg is such a nobody, isn't that easy pickins' for Floyd ? Get in, get out, easy money right ?

Nah...the risk outweighed the benifits...

Why ?

Because he knows Marg poses a threat to him. Just like he knew Johnston did, at the time, as well as Tszyu and Hatton.

Dog, do you really watch boxing or are you just on some Google conquest, trying to dig up facts to back your stupid claims ?

I have tried my best to refrain from having to reply to this post, but after reading several responses I am obligated to make a statement.

Floyd Mayweather has a reputation of waiting his opponents out. Either until they have cooled down, grown old, or are over ranked. I like to look at it as a hunter and prey game in Floyd's eyes, but at times he reminds of a bunny in a bush. Scared to come out until the smoke is clear. Regardless, some people will consider him to be on of the greatest of this era. I have began to accept that those in this era have not been that great in general.

Yours Truly,
Larry Merchant

Good post Larry, I read that in about 8 seconds. But I'm sure it took you at least 4 or 5 minutes to spew that out...all while staring at the ground in front of you.

LOL

Nah, but I seriously agree.

Larry Merchant doesn't know what he's talking about.

Floyd would make all them fighters look bad just like he did to everyone he fought. He has a boxing style that nobody can figure out. That's why De La Hoya lost.... De La Hoya got confused.

So this fight did 2.15 Million PPV Buys, and $120 Million is PPV Revenue.

Shattered the previous records, easily. With all of this money made, Floyd probably is looking at around 20 Million, and Oscar probably double that.

W O W !

I'd fight either one of these guys for that kind of loot...LOL
