It depends on his future accomplishments of course, but if he beats De La Hoya then in my opinion I feel that would definitely put him in that lane, I don't see why not? At the very least he'd be ranked top 5 by popular consensus (Pound for Pound)..

I think he's the best fighter today, but he will need to beat some more big names before he can get that title.

Those who say he will retire after this fight - it's not going to happen. First off he's like 30, 2nd he is money motivated and 3rd boxing is all he knows - he was boxing before he could stand. His entire life was/is boxing. No way a fighter can walk away from that at age 30.

Yeah, no way he can even be considered GOAT yet. He's a good fighter, one of the best right now, but he's got a lot to accomplish before people should even consider him on that level.

I don't think he's really been ducking competition or fighting easy fighters as much as people complain about, it's just that he's light years ahead of 98% of boxing. But I did speak too soon, especially since I do give De La Hoya a chance even though I think Floyd's got this...

I don't think he ducked competition either - the real problem for him is that there wasn't that much real competition around his weight classes.

I'm just sayin: Sugar Ray Robinson - 175 wins, 108 KO's, 19 losses, 6 Draws and 2 no contests. Joe Lewis - 68 wins, 54 KO's, 3 losses.

I just don't think anyone will ever be able to fuck with that kind of shit these days. I mean 200 fights is insane to think about

I wouldn't even put him (Floyd) in the top 20 or so all time, even with a win tonight. There's no way in hell I'd put him in front of Sugar Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong, Joe Louis, or even Roy Jones jr., Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, etc. Yeah, he's p4p number 1 and dominating the competition but so did Roy Jones Jr. not too long ago, who didn't really lose until he was 35 in his 50th or 51st fight. (minus the dq loss vs. Montell Griffin).
