man shut yo azz up i got belief n ma team bruh i dont give a fuck if dey went 0-16 last year real raider fans dont speak negativity..PERIOD...now worry bout yo own cot dam team....u probably some ol badwagon azz nicca n da 1st place dat wuz embarrassed 2 b a niner fan when dey wuz losin but now since dey gotta lil future n head of em u wanna hop back on bcuz i kno true niners fanz dat feel da same way az me right now when dey wuz losin....i dont like da niners but i respect a true fan ova a fake
There's a difference between being a true fan that has faith and being a straight up moron.. You calling another raider fan a fake because he is being real is a straight moron move.
I've never been embarrassed to be a Niner fan in my life. But I will say this.. When they were 2-14 I knew they would be a horrible team that year. It was inevitable. They lost Jeff Garcia and T.O. and named Tim Rattay (!) as their starter, and their offense was depleted. Their coaching staff had no authority and was straight garbage, and that was plain to see. I rooted for them week in and week out, but I KNEW they were going to be bad because I'm not a fuckin retard. The next year.. I wasn't saying "Yeah the Niners are gonna be back because we got a new coach and a new QB and blah blah fucking blah." I kept it real then, and I'm keeping it real now. You can be a true fan and not be a fuckin idiot. You should try it sometime.

It's not a perception; it's the reality.
I'm confident in the ability of a lot of the Raiders, and think things COULD be great, but I'm a realist. Sometimes, when you grow up, you look at things differently.
I have NEVER knocked MY TEAM; my main beef is with the front office and AL DAVIS. Times have changed; the mindset of those in charge hasn't. You can't just trade for Moss and expect him to sprint down the field and catch every ball, and no team is going to figure out what's going on. You can't pay STARTERS money for a decent back-up (Jordan), and you cannot put a FULL LINE of AVERAGE players on the offensive line.
The talent, in most positions, is there. The WR's are stacked. QB should be pretty good; not great, but good enough until Jamarcus Russell is ready. RB is a lot better with Rhodes coming in and Bush hopefully will do what I feel he can do. TE is suspect, but could be a surprise.
Defense is better than expected, and shouldn't have much to worry about except possibly in the secondary, but that's to be seen.
I look at teams like the Patriots and Broncos, and even with a solid team, they're bringing in more talent. The Raiders (AL DAVIS) has consistantly proven to be 'stuck in the past'...and that's why coaches like Joe Gibbs can't make it, even with the talent around them. HE TOO, was/is stuck in the past, and with the talent on THAT TEAM (Washington), he's underachieved.

Just because I don't live in fantasy land and have such stupid high hopes and false expectations doesn't make me less of a fan than tweedle-dee and tweedle-dumb up there ^^^^.

Redrum you've got good points too dog. I agree about Gibbs being stuck in the past. You've got some good football knowledge.
I think Lane Kiffin will do good as a head coach. I haven't watched too many USC games so I don't know what his offense is like... but he has to bring some kind of energy and creativity to our offense. He's going to be calling the plays so we'll see how good he really is. Don't forget his dad is Tampa's defensive coordinator (Monte Kiffin) so his dad may have given him a few tips here and there about certain coverages and schemes in the NFL.
I think our secondary is cool... I am worried about the run defense though. We can't have L.T. and L.J. running through our defense like they did last year.

Redrum I know you have your opinion but what Pooka is saying is that you shouldn't go against another Raider fans prediction because he really believes the team is going to do well.
