there's really no need to rush him back at this point. he's making 7th round money and will just be a bonus if he makes it back onto the field.
If they sit him this entire season, I am ok with it. But if during training camp, preseason, etc. he gets injured he is cut. Some player's bodies just cannot endure the physical requirements of the NFL.

I think the feeling at this point is just to make sure he's done, if he's done. imagine if we cut him and he ends up with the queefs, donks, or dolts and does well there. the dude is 6'6, fast, has great hands and runs crisp routes. he would be a beast if he could just make it onto the field and stay there.

Schillens is 6'4. They have to let him heal completely, even if that means shutting him down this season. He does play well when on the field for sure. The question is, how long do you sit around and wait for him to get healthy? We are in year three already, Shillens has played maybe 8 games total, if that.

the only reason I'm not stressin too much over Schilens is because he was a 7th round pick... a lot of times a 7th round pick is nothing but a spot on the practice squad

if he gets healthy and plays well than we can consider it a steal int he draft... if not... fuck it... just a 7th round pick

but I agree... I'd hate to let him go and see him get off somewhere else... that shit would hurt

the thing that kills me about CHAZ is he's taken up a precious roster spot for two years now and has been the reason each off season they dont bring in a WR we desperately need. which is fucking bullshit.. fuck CHAZ shoulda cut him as soon as he was binged up in the offseason. we need a dope RECIEVER

I agree with Jack Tracks except he should be on IR instead of cut. let him heal completely then see wussup.

LEADERSHIP COUNCIL

Following the morning walkthrough, a dozen players remained on the field in discussion with coach Tom Cable.

Sticking around with the coach were quarterback Jason Campbell, punter Shane Lechler, running back Darren McFadden, cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, safety Michael Huff, running back/special teams player Rock Cartwright, running back Michael Bush, strong safety Tyvon Branch, left guard Robert Gallery, defensive end Trevor Scott and Seymour.

“Just kind of a team thing to do,’’ Gallery said. “Nothing earth shattering.’’

“An in-house, housekeeping type deal,’’ Scott said. “Nothing serious.’’

Another player who was involved said Cable “wanted us to echo how important the game is, gather guys up and fire up everybody.’’

Interesting to note every position group was represented on the unofficial leadership council except one _ wide receiver.

Note: A Twitter follower points out linebacker is not represented either now that Trevor Scott is a defensive end.
This I like. Gallery & Scott are wrong, this is serious news for the Raiders. Finally some leadership on the team and its seeing results. I'm not sure who would take the roles, but WR & LB should've been there too. although you would like to see McClain but he's a rookie, and there's no clear cut #1 receiver yet.

I think McClain will come around, but I want Seymour locked up in a multi-year contract. Keep him & Nnamdi around and build off their greatness.

Imma be SOOOOOOO heated if we let Seymour walk..... Oh man, after we traded for him for a 1st rd pick only to have him play just 2 seasons would be WHACK! he brings more than just talent. That leadership and veteran presence has helped the young players a lot n showing them what its gonna take to win n more importantly, staying focused to keep ON winning.

I hope that other article that was posted about him (with seymour & asomugha talking bout superbowl during the world series) is true and he actually does wanna stay and be a mentor. what nnamdi said was true there as well, it makes other players step up to play at the level he is playing at and to prove themselves all over again.

There is no way in hell that Al Davis lets Seymour walk. Seymour is the most brilliant Free Agent acquisition that Al has made in close to a decade. This guy is a candidate for Defensive Player of the Year. Al's going to back the money truck up.

Seymour will retire a Raider. Mark my words.

I think there is a method to al's madness, in not giving big rich a contract this year. we all know al has no problem paying up for his top talents. I think al figured he would get more out of seymour this year, if big rich was playing like it's a contract year. now he's going balls out and al will have no problem writing him a big fat check at the end of the year.

how about michael bennet? this guy only made the team because bush got the thumb injury to start the season. he contributes absolutely nothing and never will. rock is our third string rb and I imagine reece would be next after him.

our coaches do some funky shit sometimes.

seymour was acquired via trade. NOT free agency bro.... CALM down over there.... hahahahahahahah

he will ALWAYS be a patriot in the eyes of every NFL supporter. this is just a small portion of his story.
