Raiders been playing good ball, and I like to think my Niners beating you guys a few weeks back lit the fire under your team's ass. lol...anyways, congrats on the success. Both of our teams have been shitty so long, its cool to see one of us do well. haha

lol @ Bruce Glasskowski

Steelers O-line is lookin like swiss cheese right now though... I think our D can put majot pressure on Big Ben

Hines Ward went out today as well as Lawrence Tines

I'm just worried that they're gonna be really pissed off after losing this game tonight and play lights out against us... fuck it, we got 2 weeks to prepare and we'll be healthier... we got this

I think it did, it was a wake up call to get beat by a team as terrible as the 9ers and they responded accordingly. Alex Smith going down andCarr being, well, himself was also a blessing for the 9ers, y'all are a completely different team with Troy Smith back there.

Yeah I was rooting for either the gaytriots to take out hella players or lose so bad that the steelers come in next week not trippin and get a surprise from a hungry raider team. I did not wanna see them lose and have to try to make shit happen next week, you know they gonna do everything possible to not lose 2 straight

The NFL MVP race: Michael Vick, and the rest

By Shane Bacon
We are about to entire Week 11 of the NFL season (that's both exciting and depressing at the same time), so it's time to start thinking about who is up for the biggest award in the sport. While one Indianapolis quarterback is looking to win the award for a third straight time, it is another, less-expected player behind center that leads the way. Who has a shot at being named the best player from this crazy season?
1.) Michael Vick(notes), QB, Philadelphia -- I said this to a friend after the Monday night "game" against the Redskins, and still stand by it, hyperbole and all: This season, Vick has been the most dominant player I've ever watched play football. Now, you have to understand, I'm not as old as some of you that got to see some of the greats back in the '80s and early '90s, but from what I'm seeing, Vick is the equivalent of John Wall walking into a pick-up basketball gym and playing hoops. Everyone would stand back, thinking, "This guy is SO MUCH BETTER than everyone else." That's how I feel Vick is as an NFL quarterback. With him being so accurate with the ball (still hasn't thrown a pick this season), it seems he can rush for 20 or more yards per attempt. The only knock? He's played just six games this season.

2.) Peyton Manning(notes), QB Indianapolis -- Sure, he hasn't had the best statistical year of his career, but he still has the Colts at 6-3 and leading their division. I don't really think there is anything more I can say about Peyton here that hasn't been said. He's the best leader in football, period.
3.) Darren McFadden(notes), RB Oakland -- Did you know the Raiders are 5-4, with Jason Campbell(notes) behind center? Yep, that's because the former Razorback running back is having a monster season. He leads the league in yards per game (108.1) by nearly six yards and is one of the few top backs playing for a serious playoff contender.
4.) Tom Brady(notes), QB New England -- They're arguably the best team in football, and he's the head of the operation. Also, a side-note: When did Brady become so tough? The guy was screaming at his offensive line on Sunday night like he'd gone mad. I mean, I like the fire he's got, but geez, lighten up. You were killing the Steelers. Also, Brady hasn't had an interception his last four games, against the Chargers, Vikings, Browns and Steelers. That's a pretty meaty group to go through without one loose toss.
[Rewind: Moss told Brady his haircut made him look like a girl]
5.) Roddy White(notes), WR Atlanta -- In nine games, White has surpassed 100 yards receiving five times, including his 201-yard performance in the presence of those reality-star receivers on the Bengals. He is the main part of the hottest offense in football right now (averaging just over 30 points a game in their last three contests, all wins), and along with Matt Ryan(notes), beat the Ravens last Thursday night nearly by themselves. A wide-out has never won the MVP award, but this season has been so weird, why not give it to him?
Others on our list: Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman(notes), San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers(notes), Baltimore defensive end Haloti Ngata(notes), Detroit defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh(notes) and Houston running back Arian Foster(notes).

It's all good, this is about the time during the season that our defense shits the bed, we let up passes by William Gay in the 4th quarter, and go on a 5 game losing streak against the Raiders, Browns, and Chiefs.

I've been worried about this game all season, cuz the Raiders have no place beating us. That means they're gonna beat us.

Seymour has bad intentions on Sunday

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Thursday, November 18th, 2010 at 2:56 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Something happens to Richard Seymour on game day.

During the week, Seymour is Mr. Diplomacy, deflecting all compliments toward the team, responding to questions in a tone befitting a candidate for public office, usually with an easy smile and friendly manner.

In that way, Seymour is similar to former Raiders guard Steve Wisniewski, a devoted Christian and family man who spoke in team-oriented clichés only to enrage, instigate and aggravate on game day.

Wisniewski played snap to whistle and sometimes beyond, drawing his share of penalty flags.

Against Denver last year, cameras caught Seymour yanking hard on the hair of Broncos tackle Ryan Clady.

“Richard is a soft-spoken quiet kind of guy,’’ defensive coordinator John Marshall said. “But as you study film of Richard, Richard is not a very nice man on the football field. All I can say is Richard takes care of business.’’

“He’s a bully,’’ said Tommy Kelly, who lines up next to Seymour. “As a D-lineman you’ve got to have a mean streak. I don’t take no (bleep) from nobody, but I’m laid back. Rich, you see him every day and he’s so cool, so serious. He’s different on game day.

“You’ll be playing in a game and you’ll be like, `Damn, why are you doing that?’ He’s like, `(Bleep) it. He did something to me two years ago.’ I’m like, `Damn, you got a memory like an elephant.’’

Second-year defensive tackle Desmond Bryant doesn’t hesitate to approach Seymour with a question _ provided Seymour doesn’t come to him first. Bryant said when a mistake of his is exposed by a coach on the video screen, Seymour, sitting behind him, will say, “That’s not OK. You’ve got to fix that.’ ‘’

Defensive line coach Mike Waufle was in his first tour of duty with the Raiders when Seymour was a college senior and interviewed him before the draft. He thought then, and he thinks now, that Seymour is better off at defensive tackle.

Seymour was moved up and down the line to create mismatches with New England. When the Raiders signed Warren Sapp to a free agent contract in 2004, coach Norv Turner even invoked Seymour’s name, saying the Raiders planned to use Sapp the same way the Patriots used Seymour.

Leaving Seymour inside, Waufle believes, has paid off in production now that he has become comfortable with his role.

“Really, for the first time in his career, he’s playing where he needed to play. And that’s being able to be in that A gap and that B gap, on and off the guard and on and off the center,’’ Waufle said. “He’s such a big, imposing figure that he can dominate a game from that position.

“He had to learn how to play it. It was new to him, a lot of the schemes. It took some time and development. It’s kind of funny because you think, well, that’s the veteran, but those schemes happen so much faster inside and they’re different. A lot of the combinations are different than they are on the outside, so it took a little time for him to develop.”

LEADERSHIP COUNCIL

Following the morning walkthrough, a dozen players remained on the field in discussion with coach Tom Cable.

Sticking around with the coach were quarterback Jason Campbell, punter Shane Lechler, running back Darren McFadden, cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, safety Michael Huff, running back/special teams player Rock Cartwright, running back Michael Bush, strong safety Tyvon Branch, left guard Robert Gallery, defensive end Trevor Scott and Seymour.

“Just kind of a team thing to do,’’ Gallery said. “Nothing earth shattering.’’

“An in-house, housekeeping type deal,’’ Scott said. “Nothing serious.’’

Another player who was involved said Cable “wanted us to echo how important the game is, gather guys up and fire up everybody.’’

Interesting to note every position group was represented on the unofficial leadership council except one _ wide receiver.

Note: A Twitter follower points out linebacker is not represented either now that Trevor Scott is a defensive end.
