My thing is this....I think all yall had dope ass points aside from some of the "obvious" folks in here just lookin to say some dumb shyt.
But here it is...I been noticing that most folks think that if Rap aint thugged out or gangsta then it's weak bullshyt and has no place in the Rap category. To me that makes no sense & I know musically that is pure bullshyt. When did it become a game of how hard you are instead of how good is your music & the quality? There are alot of dope rappers/mc's out there who never come thuggish and get looked at as soft ass cats and shyt...I see it all the time and we all know everyone on this board does too.
Just peep the next post someone puts up with an audio link and watch the comments: That shyt was HARD, HEATED etc. It's like that's all folks wanna hear now and it is sad. Mac Pacino broke this down a while back to me in person and to all of us on the board and said that folks are so caught up in this image of the music that they don't even wanna hear the shyt that means something. This was about how folks said the Bay fell off and that they wish it was like the early 90's. That was another subject aside from this one, but what he said applies here too. Folks get tired of rappin just for the streets and want more in their career so they change with the times...you can't blame em. It's evolution....

There is plenty of rap some guys would consider soft but I dig it. My only point is the stuff nelly is doing with timberlake is called POP. So should it be labeled POP hip hop or POP rap? To each his own , for real but I think there is a point when its not about talent but the loot. Anyone wonder why Nsync fan base is 15 and under?
