On Fri I just found out more about mixing & mastering.

You dont have to get someone else to mix it. Mixing requires you give em all the seperate tracks (kick, snare, horns, etc).

You should get someone else to master it. Mastering requires you just give em one stereo copy, and they do their magic.

And all mixing still should have mastering - sure its not required, but youre also not required to put out a quality cd worth a shit if you dont feel like it either.

Do not listen to this. Get your cd mixed, if you can't do it yourself (and if you are asking this question that should tell you something) and mastered (do not do this yourself)

a good solid mix is mandatory, but if you can afford good mastering it is still gonna make even the best mix ever sound noticeably better
