No but they can determine how much buzz they have regionally. If nothin else they should still be hot in the bay which they aint. Now that the hyphy train has passed they stuck in limbo.Plus if the label is fuckin em over they should let it be known that they album is never comin out.Dont just keep lyin about why they album get pushed back.

It seems that some of you on here don't realize how some majors and artists label deals are set up. After working at 2 major labels, I have learned a couple of things. For about 80% of new artists who sign to labels, they are developed for at least a year before the label chooses to put them out. A&R's jobs are dependent on how big the artist that they sign get. They have barely been signed for a year. I know it seems like they aren't doing anything but trust me, they are both making the moves that they need to, whether that's meeting the big radio/label heads, just out in other cities networkin with other artists, or bustin their ass in the studio. And still, if you ask most people in the bay, they are anticipating both of these releases. I think the most important thing is that the fans in the bay get behind both of these releases whether they like the artists or not. They will only bring more attention to the artists that you do like out in the bay.

i have a question.

so when your on a major label is it possible to still release cd's on your own and make money on the side?
It depends, most labels actually encourage mixtapes these days because of the buzz that they keep for the artists. They don't really trip because they are mostly promoted by word of mouth in the streets. They are now also using mixtapes as promotion and putting a little bit of money behind them.

Its not theyre job to hold down the bay. its the bays job to hold down the bay.
everyone from the bay complains about us not being on. but yet wen albums drop nobody goes out and buys em. the bays soundscans are kind of embarresing compaired to other markets., them independant cats in L.A. are selling 40 to 60 thousand units.
i know clyde has been working in the studio heavy. and fab is keep his name alive wit the whole battle thing.
but if fab ,ya boy, or clyde, come wit single that all markets can support and get behind that will put them up there in the lime light nation wide. and i dont know about artist development. because clyde and fab are always just in the bay, at the studio and in the club.

and if fab is doin a 30 show tour like that berner says, than that will affect alot of shit for fab. cause not only will he get payed, which is short term. but he will build his fan base and make it more wide spread. and get supported by fans in lots of other markets. and most liked connect with and build relationships with artist all over,. ever more than they already have. which will bring longevety( i know i didnt spell that rite)
so wen the major label does go to the radio stations and music channels with clyde or fabs big single. they will already have a storng foundation and a better chance of catchin on., for the boppers and lil kids to idolize them. which really is how u sell that million plus.
