People see him tourin wit KMK, ICP, doing track wit Twistid and all the juggelo shit and they put him in that catagory! Which (IMO) is pushing his black listeners away from him!! How many black fans listen to KMK or ICP?? juggelo shit is NOT hip hop! its Bullshit!! Tech is to talented fuckin wit losers!!!

Peace

is the fan base like that everywhere? I know in MA its mostly white people. i noticed like 5 people peppered in but that was it. (im white btw) doubt it matters but like in KC and his more popular areas does his fanbase have a larger black population? or is it the same everywhere?
Black people in KC stopped fuckin with Tech when he stopped fucking with MidWest Side Records....point blank, period

i believe he's talking about overall fans and show attendees. most of my niggas arent feeling him (but they love ima tell and im a playa). i constantly tell them to look pass the redish orange hair and peep what he's talking about and then judge, but they dont even want to go through a whole album with me. if they ever do listen to the albums with me already know that they will hate anghellic, say absolute power was alright and everready was pretty good if not hot. i love all three of those albums and i will be one extra black man at his show on of august in new york.
u should show them a pic of tech now and pop in mlk hahaha........

and to the one person who said he should stop painting his face... u know there is a reason for that and he said it

Tech WILL eventually appeal to everyone, I know the clock is ticking, but the M.L.K. idea was the right one. The album cover was the only "hood" cover Tech has ever done. Very plain, black t-shirts, no face paint, bunch a niggaz standing in an alley looking like they up to no good. The music is more on the hood tip with a lotta niggas we been waiting on Tech to do some music wit for a minute, I can see more projects like this one.

Here is what I would suggest.

A double album, each disc aimed at the desired demographic, Tech's clever, he can get that fanbase back if he wants it, and he doesn't have to sacrifice anything, not his music, his existing fan base or anything.

A big time collabo is due, it's almost necessary in the main stream rap industry as an introduction these days.

I think Tech can keep up just what he is doing and be fine, but if he wants the black fans back, they arent gonna change, he is gonna have to get into thier world and bring them back to his.

They could probably go mainstream with gansta shap if they had a mainstream music video

but they gotta spend money to make money, and i dont think he/they want to do that

i went to a show way back in 2000 or so in Jefferson, MO where it was tech and 3 6 mafia.

im pretty sure i was the only white guy there...

not much of a point here, but it wasnt all white kids at the shows
I remember that show. Me and my ex at the time actually got Tech on that show there because we went to Lincoln U. They didnt have faith in Tech and didnt want to see him because all the St. Louis students were jaded by Nelly and all that pop BS! Then they were screaming, Tech is a devil worshipper, Tech is a devil worshipper! We only wanna see 3-6 Mafia. I said, listen at your dumb asses! 3-6 means (666) you idiots. Wake up!!! But then again, it isnt like any of them graduated college no ways...

End of the day, Tech ripped it and everyone was in awe! Fuckin' haters!!!

I think Tech should keep doing music his way!!! Changing shit to try and appeal to another group will only damage the fan base he has built already. He's a very versatile rapper who should continue to make music that he feels. Tech's nitch is not hood/gangsta music, he has created his own nitch and should stick with it. All this bullcrap hood music is being done by every wannabe rapper out there!! "Hood" music gets old anyways. I got me a gun, I sell drugs, I'm harder than you, big fuckin deal! I think he should do the occasional "hood/gangsta" song like he has been, but there is so much more to talk about then just hood shit. I hope he keeps writing from the heart. If people don't like him the way he is, then fuckem!! And that's my two cents on the topic!

great concert. i had actually traveled from michigan down to st louis on a last minute road trip, and along the way heard about the show, and decided to go. very last minute decision, but it was well worth it. i remember meeting big scoob outside the venue before hand. he was just chillin in a lawn chair with a broken leg in a cast, and got myself a copy of rougish ways.

it was pretty nice setup they had, there was a comedian (wish i remmber who, he was funny as hell), then a dance number (hip hop dance, i think the school team or something or another), then tech, then 3 6 mafia. absolute power hadnt come out yet, but he had a couple tracks of it in the set list. only one i remember is the title track absolute power, when he kicked the a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e p-o-w-e-r see me clownin, look at all you player hatas frownin, raw, god said kill-em-all, Tech's backs to the wall, Fighting 4 my life and Imma bust back till they fall, and I ain't even slangin' them thangs I'm hollin' 187 If you trippin' with strange.

the place went nuts after that verse.

He could pull of some of that "King, Clown and the G" shit....each section with a different sound...id like that
