As far as physical harm, that ended during the Spanish inquisition.
As far as hatred towards Jews, I think it ended with the last Pope before this one.
The cat felt a sense of compassion for the Jews after the holocaust.
From what I know, this dude was the one who broke the ice, and his church was the first denomination to openly ask it's followers not to hold grudges against the Jews.
The current Pope has done a lot too, far more than anyone else. And it was because of these two Pope's that people have openned their minds.
I don't know the exact date but that's basically how it happenned.

I'll speak from experience though, growing up as a Catholic and learning about Jesus and how he died;
not once for a moment did I even think negative about Jews. Shit my grandmother didn't even give them a name, she just said that everyone during the time of Jesus hated him and it was the Romans who crucified him. So for a while, I was like "damn Romans, they killed Jesus!". But never once did I hate their descendants which later became Italy.
I was just like, "that was fucked up" but my grandma was quick to tell me that Jesus was meant to die at the cross anyway so there really wasn't anyone to blame.
Just about every Christian I know had a similar up bringing....

The irony behind this shit is that most of us don't even know any Jews.
Shit, I can't even tell them apart from regular white folks.
It was only after 96 that I got this job with this company that I actually got to meet some Jews.
They were coo people for the most part, the only ones who were dicks were the executives.
But execs are always dicks in general....

Americans for the most part....

I remember some cat here at work tellin me about how the Jews are taking over.
How rich and powerful they are and so on....
This same cat was one of many paranoid white dudes who started complaining about the Japanese buyin America during the 90's.
Remember that?
*Paranoid white dude* "Oh no! They're buying our baseball teams, businesses, the house next door! Oh my God!!!!"

I think they're now picking on the Jews the very same way....

There definately is a lot of "jew paranoya" in the world and I blame ALL of this on religion. Christianity in particular is the source of this. Fuck the pope mig, I can't wait 'till he tips over...he is just as scandless as the others before him. The shit is the biggest fucking scam in the history of the earth. Fuck the catholic church...they are insane.

It seems a lot of people on this site are anti-Israeli (not really anti-semetic) but I'm still going to say this:
To the best of my knowledge that land is not Palestines, as there has never been any Palestinian Nation or any Palestinian People. Also haven't the Jews/Israeli's been in that region a lot longer than the muslim religion was ever born?
LOL hmm...

The military take over of the region known as Palestine 1948-49, (yes it was a military take over, a war, LOL it was no gift to the Jews). And no, the territory was known as Palestine.... people think there was no Palestine because Israel has since then also encroached into the countries of Syria, Lebanon and Jordan. But the first territory was known as Palestine, and it was still predominantly Arab, although the Jewish population in the area grew when Britain signed an act in 1947 allowing ANY Jew no matter what nationality to gain citizenship in Palestine. BTW Palestine was only recognized as a territory, not a state by the U.N. simply because it was a mandate of the British Empire gained in 1917. People who say Palestine never existed are simply uneducated or misinformed on the topic.

Jewish-Zionest fundamentalists who organized the "New Land for Peace" takeover claimed they had a historical right to the area. The zionest Jews claimed their right to the area because it was a gift to them from God. Illegaly gaining weapons, ammunition and etc. from the British army, and gaining support from British Foriegn Minister, Arthur Balfour throughout World War 2 since Palestine was a British Mandate. Jewish leaders claimed they only wanted a home in Palestine, but the Palestinians had no idea the Jews who were setting up shop in their area planned to claim the entire area under a Jewish state. In 1947 the fundamentalists gained UN approval saying it would recognize the authority of a Jewish state in the area, if established.

The Israeli War of Independence in 1948-1949 ended in a Jewish state that was actually larger than the proposed area of approval by the UN in 1947 with UN Resolution 181. More than a million Palestinians were forced to emmigrate from the new Jewish state of Israel. In April of 1948 when 250 Arab civilians in the village of Dayr Yasin were killed by the movement is when the United States Department of State reversed it's standpoint on the creation of the state of Israel. Fearing he had taken part in triggering a major war in the middle East, President Truman postponed UN partition.

"By January 1949, Jewish forces held the area that was to define Israel's territory until June 1967, an area that was significantly larger than the area designated by the UN partition plan. The part of Palestine remaining in Arab hands was limited to that held by the Arab Legion of Transjordan and the Gaza area held by Egypt at the cessation of hostilities. The area held by the Arab Legion was subsequently annexed by Jordan and is commonly referred to as the West Bank. Jerusalem was divided. The Old City, the Western Wall and the site of Solomon's Temple, upon which stands the Muslim mosque called the Dome of the Rock, remained in Jordanian hands; the New City lay on the Israeli side of the line. Although the West Bank remained under Jordanian control until 1967, only two countries--Britain and Pakistan--granted de jure recognition of the annexation of the West Bank."
