Marquez had Pac outboxed after that 1st round with more power punches and he came back on the cards. Pacman DID make a fan out of me tho, he's one crazy mofo...but even so, lets see that 'Islander Style' against El Terrible! :devious:

marquez won the fight! after the first couple rounds he composed himself and pretty much controlled the rest of the bout. he was the better boxer and more precise and accurate with his punches. he made pacman look one dimensional. the judges scoring was ridiculous tho, 115-110 one way and 115-110 the other. i had it 115-113 for marquez. lookin forward to the rematch

Pac won the fight.

I seriously believe that anyone who says that Marquez won is still butt-hurt from Barerra getting dumped on by Manny.
Actually no, rounds rounds 6-12 with the exception of one of them (cant recall) going to Pacman clearly, were definitely Marquez's rounds, i watched the fight again today, im tellin you he delivered more precision power shots. The British commentators said Marquez won too, its beyond me how Lederman had the rounds i mentioned scored in Pac's favor...

That being said, in a rematch, you seen what happened when Marquez adjusted...i'd love to see a 2nd match because i know exactly what would happen. :devious:

I agree. Marquez was great in his adjustment.
In the rematch (if there is one), Marquez will probably be the betting favor and will most likely outbox Manny.

But, I am still sticking to my opinion that Manny won this fight.

Here's my score card:

Marquez Pacqiao
1) 6 - 10
2) 10 - 9
3) 10 - 9
4) 10 - 9
5) 10 - 9
6) 10 - 9
7) 10 - 9
8) 10 - 9
9) 9 - 10
10) 9 - 10
11) 10 - 9
12) 10 - 9

Total 114 111

Pacqiao just couldn't connect his left after the first round.
There were many times when he only landed in single digits per round. Marquez exposed him as a one handed fighter. A one handed fighter with very good deffense I might add.
Hell, rounds 9 and 10 were close and the only reason I gave the Pacman those rounds was because he momentarily staggered Marquez with straight lefts in those rounds.
Had Pacqiao not have caught Marquez cold in the first round,
this would've been an easy ass victory for Marquez.

And that's what I expect in the rematch, an easy win for Marquez....

____________________________________________________________________________________________

Here's my card if I were to score some of the closer rounds even....

Marquez Pacqiao
1) 6 - 10
2) 10 - 10
3) 10 - 9
4) 10 - 9
5) 10 - 9
6) 10 - 9
7) 10 - 10
8) 10 - 9
9) 9 - 10
10) 9 - 10
11) 10 - 9
12) 10 - 10

Total 114 114

Everyone should be happy that this fight was a draw.
You know Marquez is relieved at the very least but so should Pacqiao. He became very frustrated when he was no longer able to connect his left hand.
How many times did he pray in between rounds?
How many times did he started back pedalling because going forward wasn't working?
How many times did he complain about gettin hit low when the punches were actually landing on the belt line?
How many times did Freddy have to tell him to regain control of the fight?
On the other hand, Marquez was calm as can be, very focussed as he usually is.
He controlled most of the rounds, and dictated the pace of the fight for the most part....

Marquez outpunched Pacqiao, landed the more power punches as well....
Many times, he landed the cleaner and crisper punches. Did I mention the body punches that no one seem to have caught? They were responsible for slowing Pacqiao down in the championship rounds....

So much for burning a path through Mexico eh Manny?
So much for a show down with Moralez....

MONEY TALKS THEY OBVIOUSLY WANT A REMATCH FOR REVENUE BUT MARQUEZ IS SCARED!
Shut the fuck up man, how is Marquez scared????
He said he wanted a rematch to prove that the he won the first fight.....

Marquez was ducked by Prince Naseem for over a year, he knows what that feels like so he sure ass hell won't do that to another man.

And wassup with your boy punching Marquez while he was down?
And why was your boy praying in between rounds? Was it out of fear that he called out to God hoping to empower him in order to beat another mortal man?

A man that he dropped 3 times and bounced back to take control of the fight lol
I guess i'd be praying too if I was in his shoes....

Those body shots were viscious. They definately took a toll on Pac.

Some were low though. Not low enough and often enough for a point deduction, but low enough for the ref to tell him to keep em up.

WATCH THE TAPE marquez last comment was "I FELT I WON SO I DON'T WANT A REMATCH" he came off cool at first BUT HE HAD TO SLIP THAT IN THERE! fresh off a beating! as far as TELEMUNDO? I DON'T UNDERSTAND SPANISH!

yall got ALL the mexican fighter's we got ONE so we'll take it ONE at a time! just like pacquao got to fight an uphill battle fighting MORE KNOWN BOXER'S!

the way i see it IF PACQUAO HAD THREE KNOCKDOWNS IN THREE SPEPERATE ROUNDS THERE WOULD BE NO WAY IN HELL THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO TAKE THE WIN AWAY FROM HIM!

Pacquao started the drama and won more rounds then anyone would give him credit for,ESPECIALLY THE JUDGES!

Dude learn to speak Spanish,
the translator fucked up.
Marquez exact words were, "I want a rematch since I thought I won".

I think I'm gonna hit top rank up and tell them that this interpretor is garbage.
I want his job!
We've all seen his ass in TopRank fights, and he always does a horrible job of translating.

As far as your boy not being credited for winning a lot of rounds,
how can you? He wasn't even jabbing, he was just throwing his straight left. And the only other time it landed other than the first round was in rounds 9 and 10.
Watch the fight again, Marquez "dominated" most of the rounds.

Wassup with your boy's inconsistant excuses though?
As we all can remember prior to the fight, his camp kept babblin about how they were burning through sparring partners. How Pacquiao was knocking them out left and right and how they were running short on sparring partners.
Then what was Pacquiao's excuse after the fight? "Oh I hurt my foot in training. I hurt it when I fell from a slip. That's why I couldn't move around much."....
So much for burning through sparring partners during training eh? Then in the post fight press conference, he said that he couldn't move much because his legs were cramping up.
Later after his CT scan coming out of the hospital he told a reporter that his feet were badly blistered and that's why he couldn't move as he wanted to....

Verrrrrry arguable, IMO Marquez scored excellently with more effective power shots to the body and upstairs in various rounds, which somehow ended up going to Pacman on one or two of the cards. You heard Pac's cornerman, he gave him no impression that he was doing what he needed to do to win the fight what so ever. To say Marquez was 'fresh off a beating' is just ridiculous, theres no ethnic bias from my part, the man had Pac outboxed! That 1st round seems to have stuck in peoples heads and made them forget about the way the rest of the fight was basically dictated by Marquez. Be happy with the draw, your boys stock really isn't gonna plummet because of it.
