Marines are Retards

It is good in a way considering the things a grunt marine are asked to do. Once a marine hits civilian life though it could make things tough for them. It all depends on the person I guess. Navy boot camp was a fucking joke, its no wonder we have the least military bearing of all the branches (information from a poll I made up for this post).
yeah they'd probably do something dumb like beat the shit out of him and then start hoorahin then get completely wasted and do some other dumb shit. goes back to the comparison i made earlier about gang bangers...cause they would do the same thing. and you might think im dumb for thinking that beating the guys ass would be dumb...but i think a bigger and better group of people would just laugh and not even give the guy the time of day
i hate having negative feelings towards marines cause i try to be open minded and accepting of different people, but its tough with them. im real cool with some of them, and know theres a lot out there who are down and smart dudes, but the overwhelming majority ive had experience with have just left me shaking my head in confusion from some of the things they say and do
and i think its fair to say many marines join because they have trouble hacking it in the real world. its just the truth about one of the many reasons people join...or just dont really have any direction..and like gemini said, so do drugies, and bangers etc. to marines credit though, many conventional society people wouldn't be able to hack it in marine world, but i guess because im a conventional society member i'm just bias and feel the "real world" is a much better place to live.
on a kinda related note, i'd be interested to see a documentary about women who date marines. lately ive been exposed to the whole marine/girlfriends/wives sub culture and theres a lot of shit going on there. im trying to gather all the characteristics that a lot of these women seem to share and think its kinda crazy. if anyone knows of any thing out there about this let me know...or any good marine docs in general. ive heard good stuff about eye balls click or something like that

and btw i have discussed too many times why people join the marines who actually just do it to just have a good way of gaining job experience and have college paid for...but i aint gonna try to get to that again here, its fuckin useless here on the sicc....until one of you actually knows how it feels like to be in the marines with all the stress and bullshit you gotta go through then there aint no room to talk, not just having a stereotypical view of marines through gay ass movies and the internet

Of course it's people who have absolutely no idea what basic training or military life is like that are talking about brain washing or mind control.
It's called training. You're trained to perform a number of combat related tasks like firing a weapon, evaluating casualties, first aid, etc. They "drill" it into you until it becomes second nature and you can perform those tasks in stressful, chaotic situations.
During my stint in the Army there was no political indoctrination, or anything even close to that. The only thing political I ever saw was reminders to vote during voting season. You're trained to perform tasks, not brainwashed into following an ideology.
There is some truth to the statement of people joining up because they have limited options in civilian life. Plenty of people paid for their college with the military and have been able to see the world and move out of mom's house. It's not an easy life, but it can be rewarding.
