I got there earlier today and left cuz it wasnt crackin yet. Then I went like 2 hrs ago, like 10 min after the shots were fired. There were at least 20-30 cop cars surrounding the area. It got pretty chaotic. At one point i saw 2 ghetto birds.

I swear, fuckers dont think about consequences.

heres the story:

Emergency personnel attend to a victim at the scene of a shooting in the 1800 block of Capitol Street in Vallejo on Tuesday evening. Photo: J.L. Sousa/Times-Herald

A Vallejo man was shot Tuesday evening at a memorial celebration for Andre Hicks in the vicinity of Janice Street an Mark Avenue.
While Vallejo police were not available for comment a press time, witnesses at the scene said the victim is 20 or 21 years old and was shot in the neck.

Renee Johnson said the shooting occurred on the opposite side of the vehicle from where she and her three children were standing. She and a friend, who identified herself as Mrs. Johnson, said two girls jumped another girl and then the crowd closed in to watch. A man then raised a gun toward the sky and squeezed off a number of gunshots, apparently trying to stop the fight. But then he inexplicably lowered the weapon and fired into the crowd.

Renee Johnson said no one seemed to know who the gunman was.

She said it was a celebration for Andre Hicks, a rap artist who was known as Mac Dre. Hicks, 34, was shot and killed in Kansas City, Kansas, last Nov. 1.

Numerous officers from Benicia, American Canyon, the California Highway Patrol, Solano County Sheriff's Office and other departments assisted Vallejo police in trying to bring the crowd under control after the gunfire. One witness said she heard about10 gunshots.

Vallejo Police Lt. Kevin Kelley said it was because of the crowd that emergency personnel found it difficult to get to the victim.

Mrs. Johnson said it took 20 minutes for the Vallejo Fire Department to arrive on the scene and said it was because there were so many police cars.

Vallejo police are also investigating a shooting that occurred shortly after 6 p.m. in the 1800 block of Capitol Street.

Police were tight-lipped about the incident except to say that no one was in custody.

The shooting occurred in a brown-shingled building between Tuolumne Street and Solano Avenue. The courthouse is nearby and the building itself is situated between Elam Bail Bonds and Professional Plaza, which houses the offices of an attorney and a dentist.

Its a DAMN FUCKIN SHAME that some knuckleheads have to ALWAYS fuck shit up for everyone. These youngstas these days feel NO RESPONSIBLITY for their actions. Everyone is so goddamned hardcore, and no one stops to think how the moves they make are going to affect themselves and other people for the rest of thier lives. Something has to change, or we will never be able to enjoy (or mourn) anything in the Bay. There were kids, BABIES, standing around last night lookin at a dead body laying on the ground, while the crowd BLOCKED the ambulance and fire trucks from getting to him. They said that this poor child (21 years old, someones BABY) laid there in the freezing cold for over 20 minutes, while everyone stared at him. Even though I was not there at the time, and do not feel responsible, I feel like I owe Dre an apology. I should do more for the youth in our society, to help show them a better way. We all should. Men need to step up and be fathers, mentors, big brothers, positive role models, and women need to become ladies again, nurturing mothers, quit tryin to figure out where the next blunt or dick is gonna come from and try to figure out how to send you child to school ready to learn and become productive members of society. If we don't show our children what its like to make something of ourselves, how are they going to learn how to make somethin of themselves.

RIP Mac Dre...Sorry that your memorial day will forever be tainted even further.....
