Mary B. Triplett, a retired nurse who does volunteer work at schools in the Eden Park area, said “this is a major problem” that needs to be addressed.
She said she got a lot of support when she marched around Gus Young Avenue and North Foster Drive this spring carrying a sign that read: “Boxers, briefs and thongs are underwear, not outerwear. Please pull up your pants.”
Triplett said the saggy pants trend is “affecting our children in a negative way” and needs to be stopped.
“I call it the three D’s — disgraceful, disrespectful and disgusting,” Triplett said.
