Metro Councilwoman C. Denise Marcelle has a message for young men in baggy pants that hang so low you can see several inches of their boxer shorts: “LOW PANTS, NO CHANCE.”

That’s the slogan she’s suggesting as the focus of a public awareness campaign aimed at convincing young people their hip-hop fashion statements can have repercussions for their futures.

what do they mean, if youre sagging your pants you dont get service?
Yeah, I think so, I don't know for sure, my coworker snapped that photo today, the signs are just going up.

I also think, its on some 'just don't do it for your future' kind of tip.

“I hate to see it and I see so much of it in my district,” Marcelle said. “It’s disrespectful to the elderly, to young kids and to women.”

The resolution says wearing saggy pants creates negative stereotypes and that “those who wear saggy pants are hurting their chances of becoming employable, educated and productive citizens.”

“What these young men don’t understand is that it sets you up to be stopped or pulled over by police,” Marcelle said. “It lessens their chances of being employed and has so many negative connotations.”

I think this 'campaign' is funnier if you've ever spent time in Baton Rouge... like if people would just pull their pants up, errrrythang would be normal.
