alota white teachers actually sincerely try to help minorities make something of themselves. they actually try to do anything but teach kids that theyre pieces of shits, but rather try to give them the tools to advance in society.

unfortunately the positive things these white teachers are saying fall on deaf ears cause none of it has anything to do with what 50 cent or lil wayne talk about, which is flaunting money, buying shit, partying at the club, fucking bitches, flaunting money, buying shit, flaunting money and buying more shit. these rappers are these kids heroes and all they do is set the example that materialistic bullshit is what life is all about. i think that does dumb down
ill make a huge message in a moment

just cause most of you proably dont know what it really is like to grow up in the ghetto

i think you give a little too much credit to the status of black ppl in this country. sure you see some in politics and on tv or whatever but theyre still systematcially oppressed as shit. i hate to bring up such cliche examples but just look at katrina, prisons, community segregations. after that you still think blacks are alongside whites in status?

i would say maybe asians are the closest, but thats only economically. cause other than that nobody really seems to take them too serious, so thats not good

as far as minorities and ignorant and ghetto ppl complaining about being oppressed and hating white people. i agree with you on all that. hating white ppl is stupid and makes minorities who do it look stupid. it is a reality that minorities are institutionally oppressed and that this country is run by few white power elites, but just acknowledge it and don't fall into their traps. thats the only thing you can do to come close to beating them. complaining while acting and living exactly the way they set it up for you to act and live is useless.

I agree with everything except the last part, the reason why white teachers can only do so much with their students is they have them for 6 to 8 hours of the kids 24 hour day. The remaining hours for the kids day belong to the neighborhood which has criminals, addicts and dealers. The neighborhood has much more influence on a kid in a ghetto than what any rapper says, imo. The situations in black ghettos have been happening before rap ever existed.

I was thinking the same thing about people who think he said something wrong. I have seen the clip a few times now and I still don't see what he said that was wrong. not to mention that for a good portion of that clip he was QUOTING SOMEONE ELSE (a white man).
im not just talking about THAT clip... im talking about the shit hes said overall.... goddamn america they created aids to kill the colored man... etc... and that we brought terrorism on ourselves...cmon now... u just dont say shit like that

yeah i agree its society and the way its created and maintained the ghettos that is most blame. im not blaming hip hop for the way these kids turn out, but just saying it contributes, and rather than uplift, dumbs down the kids. this is generally speaking of mainstream hip hop, cause there are some dudes, like a lupe fiasco, who are doing it right
