fuck the level of east coast emcees who gives a shit about that
Obvioulsy Frontline does because they rhyme like they are from N.Y. What I said in my post wasn't a diss. They are trying to reach that level of East Coast lyricism and doing more than talking bout the same old shit.

Just because we heard some of the singles doesn't truly lessen the body of work. The album still hits that classic status and it is one of the rare albums out of the west coast period where you can see the obvious mainstream appeal combined with real MCing. I think the lack of promotion hurts ALOT and it's sad because alot of Bay shit (like the feds fo exsample or the hyphy foolment period) get crazy attention and at the end of the day the music is shitty. After really soaking this album up I really believe that if the promotion was right they could be real stars in the game (not just here in the Bay). Locksmith is a beast on the mic and Left is a storyteller. They both spit fire just in differen ways. I hope that people go and buy the album, because it is what the Bay needs exported out of here.

Frontline is dope....i like their new album...but IMO ..they need to switch it up a tiny bit when it comes to their music...there's something missing in it and I don't know what it is..
love frontline to death, but they rap about how niggas is weak too much. dont rap about rap! instead of complaining about how nobody has substance no more and all that, just make sure your album is full of substance and stories. rapping about rap and how rap is doing bad does not equal substance!

I feel you on that, but with songs like The News, The Truth, Game Paln, R.I.P., Backpack and even the catchy ones like When You Want It and Goin Down they brought a lot to the table as far as range and substance. The album was great and I think there is a need for artist to try to put presure on the people to start to point out the wackness in hip-hop. They are MC's and that's what mc's do. For real and I just don't throw the classic label around, but this one gets it from me as a consumer who spends his money on hip-hop music.

got to pick it up, when it came out?

that my friend was the only problem with the album...no promo

This album is the best album in the last 2 years IMO, even though I had heard the songs before I still keep playing the album through and through....

Fed game came out almost the same time as frontline... As for the albums I think Frontline > Federations
IMO to compare the to would be disrespectful to what The Frontline made which is a classic album. I let people listen to it from other areas and they didn't believe they was from the Bay. That is sad, but with what the Bay has been giving the world I don't blame them for thinking that way. If this album gets promotion it will get the credit it deserves. The good thing is that the music and content is on its own thing so it has the staying power to spread throughout the country and not sound old and out dated. I was just thinking...if they would have got the shine over the stupid hyphy shit the Bay would way better represented and respected throughout the country, but the Bay picked Hyphy novelty over serious music and lyrics.
