I agree with you Gambit but you also have to admit the music is watered down because of how the corporations infiltrated the culture. When Toyota makes swagger wagon songs with middle age white families and niggas on WSHH like "that shit kinda go hard." Yeah its def watered down thats why i said you dont got to be a great lyricsts these days and its about gimmick and image.
im the type though im versatile and listens to all kinds of stuff like for example i may pop in a soulja boy track(one his new tracks that i like) then bump some gucci, T.I., gorilla zoe, max b, then pop on something oldschool like spice 1 ammerkkkas nightmare, dj quik safe & sound, grand puba then bump some r&b.
I think its only a matter of time before people get tired of the bullshit and want to here some shit with some form of "consciousness" in it. that dumbed down shit is coo, but only for the club... nobody wanna hear a whole album of the same "gimmick" just cuz its hot right now. most the artists new singles and maybe even they're career wont be around long, hit songs used to stick around for years sometimes, they fall off rotation and memory in months now..
