i feel what you're sayin in this thread, about alotta the content in the lyrics that us bay rapperz come wit. and it does need to change, and i've been seein a slow change, but i mean itz gone take time for all the weak catz out here to finally admit their mistakez and get the fuck outta the game, lol.

And yes, production does need to be better on projects. the reason i think people often end up wit all them garbage ass beats on their albumz in that alotta the newer artists dont exactly have a strong enough label behind them, to put real money behind their projects. so alot (like myself) say fuck it, and have to do it on their own. and itz a trip on how many no-named producers i meet, who are very talented, but wanna charge all types of prices, cause they're hella big headed from niggaz tellin them their shit is so damn raw. and i aint talkin bout the producers who've done alotta previous work, i'm speakin on the ones who are on the same god damn level as i am, just a young starving artist out here.
but evetually everyone will realize, and correct their mistakes. and as for KMEL not playin any of our shit, i really never expected that to happen, until we have all stepped up. both young & old acts.

Dutch, point taken. Like I said, I meant no disrespect. HOWEVER, if every time I say something, you feel the need to critique my shit, by all means do so. You have access to songs that were recorded when I was 19 years old, still young, still dumb, and not polished. I'm STILL not polished, the day I stop getting better is the day my career is over, that's just how it works!! If you really want to go there with the critique and put it on the net, it's all good...I'll sit back and laugh my ass off, cause cats on here are YES MEN for certain people, and NO MEN for everybody else...this site has 1 track...and like I've said many times, I give a fuck what people on an internet board think of me or my music. I get what I need critique-wise from people who HATE rap music...so if they say they'd bump it, I must be hittin' something that's marketable. I'll be the first one to say, the album I put out is coo, but it's nothing near GREAT!! But I know what we're doing now is on a different level, and I'm proud of that shit!!

I didn't make BAD songs when I first started, they just, in my own opinion, were not up to par, I didn't use my brain like I do now...that's how it works for most though....AND, Dutch is a cool cat, and gets much respect from me just because he doesn't hold back, I'm the same way. We have the nuts to tell people like it is, and we have the nuts to challenge people's opinions. I'll challenge his and he'll challenge mine, all day...but at the end of that day, got to give respect where it's due...and respect is due to real cats who don't hold back!!

I aint gonna post a res but i have done half of what you posted but I dont rap. I know where your coming from, well kinda. ive worked in more than just Rap Music so its a ruff world but if you aint gonna help folks then why judge them if it dont bother you?if you want to be a critic then tell them what is bad about it. maybe some one else gave them bad advice. Let them know.


All I see is Big Ego's jumpin around here. That is the Problem that needs to change in the Bay. Have confidence in your music but dont degrade others. I think i can count on one hand the Folks on this site that should have the Ego's some of ya'll have but they dont degrade or downplay other rappers at all. I think the best Example would be Seant T. I mentioned him twice Cause this is got to be one of the Hardest working Down to earth cats around and Is always willing to Help Folks. He is what we should be. The Cat has been around, Worked with Legends and Is still doin it.

I was talkin to dutch about this same thing. People tell me I'm good, and that I need to drop a cd quite often, but I don't let it go to my head, and when i write, it's never good enough for me, but even if i do write somethin dope, I don't dog someone else out, unless they disrespect me. I read this the other night, and it totally stood out at me, it coincidentally was the same night i was talkin to dutch about this subject.....

Wow...a lot of good feedback from everyone. It seems that we all have this common dilemma, how can we improve? Chuck really is trying to help us all out, thats the truth of the matter. What we need to do is understand that CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM is good. Dont take anything the wrong way, its just someone else's opinion. Whether or not you register it as positive or negative reflects the kind of person you are. Me, shit I get told how I can improve all the time. I am young in this game, and I want to learn as much as I can. So i LISTEN....most of the time, not saying anything back unless I need more reasoning on why things i did were wrong, and what someone would suggest I do the next time. If we all can help each other out by offering suggestions to an open mind I am all for it. If I walked around being an ignorant mutherfucker I may as well call it a day...I know there is so much more out there for me to learn....humbling yourself sometimes puts things right where they should be...
