Man That Bay Area Big Shot shit is Terrible, I listen to about 60 cds NOT ONE SONG even ALRIGHT! Man I mean just Bad not mixed, everybody rapping bout the same thing, Glocks, blocks, Scrappers, How many niggas they killed, how many hoes they fucked.. i mean man Due and Boycott KMEL??? Man if any station played bay area music all day they would FLOP!! Think about it the consumer obviously wants to hear the shit KMEL is Playing cuz them muthafuckas sell way more than us in our own backyard, Jay Z Sells over 100,000 in SF-OAK-San Jose!!!!!!!! We only have one or two artist that even sell that TOTALLY!!!! Man if you wanna do something! get off your ass and tell all your people to SUPPORT THR GOOD SHIT! QUIT BURNING IT AND GO OUT AND BUY IT, AND EACH ONE TELL ONE WE'D BE OK! EVERYONE else supports their own except us, thats Not just radio(them too) but YOU TOO! Why shouldnt 40, Quinn, Keek, etc.. sell 100k in here if its that many people buying rap around here? Then You guys Bash Von & Scotty when they are the only ones playing the shit on the radio! along with Rick and Mind Motion! Fact that KMEL wasnt playing shit until Von came from Wild, and NOBODY other than 40 was getting any radio play until WELCOME TO THE BAY! opened up for everybody to do their mix tape songs and for them to see the public feeling local artist! So a mutha fucking Thank You is in order instead of bitching all the time! As a whole lets get off our ass and start working harder and quit saying everybody owes us, and if you the only one that talks about your raps you should QUIT cuz you are part of the problem!

That's real talk I sent some music to KMEL that was tight some high schoolers from out here who won a couple of talent shows and who will be performing at San Francisco Juneteenth 2004 and they get no play and the shit was mixed and mastered. We need a summit out here so our folks can address some issues and problems cuz we all we got!!!!!!

I feel ya! Artist from all over the country come here...get interviewed by both station.....get there songs played 1,002,564
times and sell 100,000 units easily!

Yet, I can put out an album and I can't even get a sniff from BOTH stations! And when they do play a bay song it's a "CLassic Bay Cut"

and we all know those songs!I love them! But...

Playaz club, I got 5 on it remix, Game Recognize game and Captain save a hoe are almost TEN YEARS OLD! Turn the page KMEL!!! Fuck!!!!

charles got a point, Ive been waiting for bay music to get on the radio for years now that is a big part of the reason people dont buy Bay Shit...The simple truth is there are too bootleggers out there. Coping all the shit. AND the bay needs to get a couple videos on TV even if it means a bunch of them/us pulling togather for one video that they play during the super bowl on a commercial or something. Get out there nationally. AND The bay dont get enough love from the suburbs. Everyone out in San Rafael knows whats craccin except for the youngsters, and I know other areas in marin dont support bay shit. For as long as I can remember Ive been trying to have DJ's at dances play some bay shit..ya know...I think I good idea would be to go out there....go to different cities in the U.S. shit leave the country...do hella shows. I know you got to stay true to the street, thats one of the best things about the Bay its REAL. (for the most Part) But u also gotta know were the money is. Rich Kids in the suburbs....and Especially Rich Bitches Buy A lot of CD's. But they are glued to the radio and MTV and BET you got to infiltrate that shit gorilla style. I mean e40 quarterbackin I thought that was it. man how come no one voted for that shit on 106 and park? I mean Im on this board everyday and I barley found out I give you My WOrd was coming out. Whats up with the promotion. Damn Send me a stack of cds Ill sell em for 10 bucks a pop. I got kids out here waiting for MY cd after I gave em a couple mixtapes beggin me... and I got my style from e40 mac dre san quinn yukmouth and killa tay... why cant I sell I clean looking shrink wrapped copy of quinn I CAN. what pisses me off is, people are killin people on the radio and in video songs, but when people in the bay do it, it don't get played on the radio!

I live in NY right now, i play shit from the bay, and they say it's too gangsta for them, i think it's because they believe the bay cats will actually do it! They don't believe that the mainstream artists will actually kill anyone.

I'm tired of hearing why the bay ain't blowin up. Only one person hit it on the head to me, the quality ain't good, but the buisness is even worse!!!!! put out a video and advertise in more places than murder dog, the siccness and xplosive!

Ya'll can't tell me out of all those cd that came into KMEL is wack. Let's say 90% of em is and that's a lot. But still they gotta be a few good shit coming in. With all the BS they playing, it make it seems like KMEL is right about not playing Bay music. I refuse to believe that unless that's the plan. Shit, the Eastcoast & Dirty South is on the same topic with they shit too. Lil Scrappy/Lil Jon has a song called "Head Bussa", Bone Crusher "Neva Scared", 50 Cents/G Unit all have gangsta lyrics. But the Big 3 Dist. make sure they get air & video play, that's the only difference. Beside they have better quality music.

It's not just radio that make these millionares, it's the videos. Get Keak on Mtv or BET and he will sell them units. Cats gotta put more than $8G's into a project to see them big numbers. I'll luv to see a cat from the yay put up them huge numbers. So do what ya'll do and invest more bread into your projects. It'll happen soon, belive that!

I agree with you my opinon on this and this is just me speakin with alot of people in the street is the bay need to come to gether for the music I think San Quinn and E-40 are very talented alot of people I come accross say that they support them but its always about alot of money to do things with artist so many artists are chargin way to much to do a verse and some of them havent even pushed a substantiel amount of units the way people see it is if they are gettin a couple of gz off spittin 16 barz then they obviously dont need alot of record sales so they burn shit same goes with platinum artist however they are pushin 2 to 4 million units so if 2 million people burn their shit it dont mean nuthin they are still seelin regardless but to the people only pushin 80,000 to 100,000 it means alot so my suggestion is to do more with artists in the bay that are cummin up for at least a reasonable price and lets blow the bay back up again because its obvious no one in the bay is pushin 500,000 everytime out.Some people I have talked to said they would rather pay 10gz to an artist out of the bay that pushes way more units than pay that for anyone in the bay its sad lets support the real shit and go to the store and buy it peace
