Following UFC 90 this past weekend in Chicago, Dana White was questioned about his thoughts on some of the talent that will be left without jobs following the collapse of EliteXC and when the topic of Kimbo Slice came up, White offered the following:

“What has the guy done to deserve to be in the UFC? Nothing. I don’t consider him a real athlete or anything. He won’t win The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). The offer is out there if he wants to take it and he won’t win it. I might [put a heavyweight show together just for him].”

Now although this is a nice gesture from the UFC President its most likely not going to happen. Slice has been spoiled with super high pay days from his time with EliteXC and may just be looking for his next big pay day instead of looking to step up his competition.

This is just Dana challenging Kimbo to be on his show, pretty much daring him. Whether you like Kimbo or not or think he deserves a shot you can't deny that Kimbo would bring ratings. The crazy name, crazy beard all that crap would get people to watch the UFC.

HE WOULD PROBABLY ACTUALLY DO PRETTY GOOD, HEAVYWEIGHTS FOR THE MOST PART WERE THE SORRIEST CROP OF FIGHTERS TO COME OUT OF ALL THE TUF SEASONS.

IM TALKING ABOUT THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER SHOW...I KNOW SETH WAS A CONTESTANT AND SO WAS RASHAD BUT THEY HAD BRAD IMES AND DAN CHRISTION WHO WERE BOO BOO. THAT BATCH OF FIGHTERS FROM THE HEAVYWEIGHT SEASON WAS SORRY.
I WASNT TALKING ABOUT THE DIVISION.

Could Kimbo possibly drop down to 205? He would be a big 205er, I think he could do pretty good at 205 since a lot of the UFC LHW are strikers.

but yeah, if Kimbo wants to continue his career as a fighter, joining TUF is his last shot at not being looked back on as a complete fucking joke. In all reality it would be a good move for Dana and Kimbo, mutual recognition.

People will stay pay to watch Kimbo fight .. he doesn't have to go to the UFC. You don't go from making half a mil to fighting for a TUF contract. Someone will sign Kimbo and put him in fights that he can win in order to capitalize on his name.

i agree, but if kimbo was smart, he would "invest" his TIME, into TUF, IMO. some folx invest money into reapin the rewards, he should invest his TIME and look at the big picture, look in the long run. like stomper, i think kimbo would do HELLA good in TUF. jus get over that hump and get that ground game tightened up, and he could be a factor in the ufc. fold.

Depends on who they get. There's no doubt that they'd put in a few real solid heavies if they get Kimbo to attempt to embarass him and prove their point.

From a fan stand point I'd like to see him go on TUF but it doesn't make business sense to him. Strikeforce would probably throw him in a fight and pay him decent .. DREAM might pay him alright. IMO they threw this offer out there knowing he'd turn it down.

THE THING IS FINDING SOLID HEAVYWEIGHTS IS HARD. RASHAD WON THE TUF AS A HEAVYWEIGHT, CAUSE THEIR WASNT ANY LEGIT SOLID HEAVIES.THEY WERE ALL BIG GOOFY UNCOORDINATED OAFS.
AND IF THEY JUST USE FIGHTERS TRYING TO BREAK INTO THE GAME THEN HE ALREADY HAS A STEP AHEAD OF THEM AS FAR AS EXPERIENCE AND THE NUMBER OF PRO FIGHTS. HE ALREADY HAS MONEY FROM ELITE,SO TO MAKE SOME NOISE IN TUF WOULD BE BENEFICIAL. AND MOST THE DUDES WHO DIDNT WIN THE COMPETITION STILL GOT CONTRACTS IF THEY CAME WITH SOME GOOD FIGHTS. LOOK AT KOSCHECK, SWICK, DAVIS, AND JARDINE.
BUT JAPAN IS STILL A GOOD OPTION CAUSE U.S. FANS WILL STILL LOOK FOR HIS FIGHTS.

Depending on what the salaries are for the fighters on the show, it would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more beneficial for the UFC for Kimbo to go on TUF than it would be for Kimbo.
