Ya'll realize that every copy of Killer sold will count for 2, right? I think he will probably SoundScan around 40K-60K first week.
it only counts for 2 when it comes to RIAA awards (gold, plat, etc). they count every disc sold whereas Soundscan only counts each unit scanned. there's only 1 barcode on each double CD.

but yeah...maybe he'll ship 250k and have a "gold record" by the end of the year.

Does anyone else think that "Killer" won't sell as much as "Everready" in the first week? I sure do see that happening right now. I hope I am dead wrong, though.

Didn't Everready also count as a "double-disc" since the total music was over a certain number of minutes when you included the Strange Music Library? I remember hearing that at the time of the release. I know it wasn't pimped as a "double-disc" though, because technically, the bonus disc was more of a sampler. :lick:

Are you kidding? Ive seen immense Buzz for this album. More so than Everready. With Everready, tech had the hiatus to play on, this time hes simply just got a raw CD. I also think his fan base is growing exponentially, and geographically.

I can buy the fan base growing and also the "raw CD' aspect, but I think the hiatus helped him so much last time. Everyone was more than okay with buying more then one CD. This time, there are many releases from Strange Music in a short amount of time, plus it hasn't been as long since he released a CD.

Last time (Everready) I bought five within the first few weeks (four the first week) and then the edited version the next Summer. This time I really don't wanna buy more than one or two. That's me, but I just feel that it might be hard to duplicate the success of last time. :ermm:

See, I put more credence into seein shit like that, as far as predicting how well an album will sell...

I've also heard a decent amount of buzz as a whole, on the streets and online... like I said, if this drops at a nice cheap price first week sales should be solid...

There are people around my town that have never heard of Tech N9ne a year ago, and they're coming up to me going "DUDE! I'VE GOT THIS EMCEE I WANT YOU TO LISTEN TO! HIS NAME IS TECHN9NE!"

I'm like "Yeah, man. That's crazy. Come over to my cd case for just a second and peep what I got in there."

My little brother came up to me the other day and was telling me how he was seeing Paul Wall and Tech in Springfield and he was all excited about it. His musical taste falls into the Fallout Boy, Panic! at the Disco kind of shit. It took me by surprise.

And with Strange Music flooding the market with records only makes them look more steadied and legit. If the albums drop and they're all solid, the company will thrive more this year than they ever have. I don't believe the "hiatus" theory. There have been commercial emcee's come off a hiatus and bomb their record sales.

Apparently, Tech has been letting some people listen to the album while on tour now.

Here's some posts from SFU...

Basically a one time sit through with tech, krizz some roadies and my boy glen, who has hooked me up time and time again with tech shit.

it's fuckin amazing.

everything is fuckin off the hook. i mean, like.. seriously, better than everready. there was even a kabosh song on there.

it wasnt all 32 tracks. only an hours worth of music.
I know a few people that have heard Killer. and from what I heard, alot of it was very good.

I got to listen to it last night. The track with Ice Cube is dope.
