Those kids obviously did this to antagonize and cause some controversy, as is evidenced by their refusal to turn their shirts in and lessen the tensions. They could of done this on any other day but instead chose Cinco De Mayo. And it's not like they dress like that everyday. The truth is they were trying to pick a fight with a racially motivated statement. With that said what the teachers could have done, is used this as a teaching opportunity about diversity, ethnic pride, free speech, respect for others, etc.
