i must be the only one to not see the big deal with ice t. there are alot of "legends" in my opinion that arent shit for legends. only reason why they "legend" was because they were the first. being first at something dont make you the best at it.
I agree'

IMO

Kanye is a legend in the making he made a superstar impact and changed music as a producer and rapper.

To me Ice T is just a ex car theft/pimp with a perm turned gansgter rapper then actor. He more respected in cali but if you ask about him somewhere else niggas will laugh. Listen to his last album when he tried to bring gangsta rap back he sounded outdated with his raps.

and soulja boy is no where near Nas, I dont think that was what kanye was saying though I think he was saying taht soulja came with something different to the table like Nas once did, remember nas was a youngster when he dropped Stillmatic

He is a pioneer. There's a good chance if he didn't open the doors he did, the music you listen to wouldn't exist (assuming you came to this site because of your taste for California gangsta rap). Ice T along with guys like Too Short and NWA defined an entire generation and paved the way for everybody.
Too short is still hot though and Ice T isnt so thats a major difference. Plus Short not living in the past he reinvented himself and his sound. Ice-t has the same sound he had in 1991. imo power from 1988 was his best album

WHAT U MEAN BY THE RAPPER PART ? I DONT THINK HE IS THAT GREAT ON THE MIC. BARELY TOLERABLE.. ANYTHING THATS STANDS OUT I SHOULD PEEP AND MAYBE CHANGE MY MIND ABOUT?

You remember when Collage dropout first dropped everybody was all on his dick saying he bringing real hip hop spits back. thats what i was refereing too.

Heres a soulja coy freestyle that just leaked i ran across it.
Dude was trying too hard and he really think he the best.

Oh! U talking about the same nigga that said some bullshit about how the group the Grave Diggers are the originators of Horrorcore rap. Pretty much shittin on niggaz like Brotha Lynch, Esham, Ganksta NIP & Sicx with that comment. Weather he heard of them or not he should of done some research before making such an ignorant statement.
Yeah, GD were just the first big released/pushed ones.

Of course u won't hear a lot of people talking about Ice in other places like Cali. Just like niggaz aint talking about Kool G. Rap like that but niggaz in NY. Ice is only selling about 10k copies everytime he drops. He's not even droping music to gain a new fanbase cuz he know he won't be getting them. His music is for his die hards only. I won't even buy an Ice T CD now but I do own his first 4-5 albums. He did have some really good music. Ice aint even major in Cali either. Only the OG's still fuck with his music.

And Nas might of been a youngsta when he dropped Illmatic but compare Nas as a young nigga to Soulja Boy now. Hell, Kriss Kross brought something new to the table if niggaz wanna go that far. Kanye should of used Another Bad Creation as an example instead of Nas if he wanted to drop that shit.

Ice T might be kicking outdated raps but his outdated shit is still 15 notches above Soulja Boys raps.

I just hope Soulja Boy don't end up like Gary Colemen 20 years from now cuz if he don't get his finances together & eliminate the people who are just around him just to get cashed out that's what's gonna happen. He's 17 & he's real green, corny acting & immature(even for his age) so he's definitly a target for having the worse kind of people around him.

Probably why his music is bullshit nowadays. Too Short doing crunk and hyphy songs is some of the worst shit ever.
