Try to get an office job through a temp agency in your area. I went through a temp agency and started off at $17. I finally became permanant a year later now making $22.30 plus over time and bonuses. I'm not going to tell you where I work tho.

For my union it was $25 monthly while a probationary. Then when I got initiated it was $600 to become a full fledged member and now I pay about $140 for quarterly dues. Considering my pay, it's really not that bad. The only thing that hurt the wallet was the $600 but it was still less than a weeks paycheck so it wasn't too bad. The only fee they asked for before I started working was $25 which goes towards your first month of union dues.
Okay good shit. With that union or any union do they have any entry level jobs or do u gotta come with some type of certificate?

It helps but isn't necessary. I took a year worth of electrical training which helped me but there's some guys that came in with nothing except a decent work history. To get into the one I'm in, I had to pass a basic exam with math, english, and some mechanical questions and pass the interview. They take the score from both of those, average them out and put the applicants into tiers, with the top tiers being hired first and so on. But it really depends on which union you apply for, some have more work than others at any given time...it fluctuates.

Yeah knowing someone is the best way to get a city job. I got an internship as an engineer with the city of pinole through a friend of my girlfriends family and my girlfriends dad works for the city of american canyon and he started like a year ago but he knew a few people and had his last job for like 20 years.

If you're not worried about benefits for now, a temp agency is a good choice.

^ Mostly office jobs...$15-25 an hour...its cool cause the hiring process is hella simple, and a lot of times the sites you work at eventually offer you full time benefitted positions...

^ Yeah...its cool tho...the hiring process is hella quick...no drug tests...nothing. They pretty much hire you on the spot. Plus, its cool money for doing work that doesn't leave you all bent at the end of the day.
