I used to think Drake was wack. Then I heard some of his mixtapes. I won't lie, he's pretty sick to me now.
yeah... I know it's not cool to like Drake... especially on the siccness

but when it comes to rapping... dude can actually spit

I don't listen to him all the time or anything... but I can respect him for his skills... and he has some dope songs

his skills... haha... i guess you havent seen his dope free text style.
I don't really know what you're talking about

but yeah his skills...

he has a good flow, delivery, multi-syllable rhyme patterns, some clever wordplay here and there

I'm not saying the guy is the greatest rapper alive... and obviously his music isn't for everybody, that's fine. But he isn't hella garbage like Soulja Boy or somebody... in my opinion at least... whatever that's worth...

Anyone who cant recognize drake has talent is a fuckin moron, period. It may not be your kind of music, but his actually rapping skills as far as word play is tops in the rap biz at the moment. He was/is a ghost writer for some of the top talent in the rap industry for a reason.

It's one of those double edged swords, I guess. If you don't like Drake, you're a hater and can't recognize his 'mad skills', yet if you do like Drake, you're a faggot who sucks Jonas Bros. balls.

< Doesn't like Drake, so I must be a hater.

Your not a hater if you have a reason to not like him.

Your a hater if you just hate cuz its the cool thing to do to hate on mainstream rappers.

I dunno what song you heard but his metaphors are damn good.

so who does drake write for? does he write for kanye west and lil wayne? cause that one song "Forever" thats always on the radio all three of their verses sound exactly the fuckin same, like he wrote all three

and drakes lyrics are garbage, ive only heard his singing ass "successful" song and "forever" and ths what im basing this judgement on

but come on man
"last name Ever, first name greatest
like a sprained ankle boy i aint nothin to play with" <-- OH WOW hes so fuckin smart cause it kinda rhymes.. and it makes sense! you cant play when your ankle is sprained! Haha!! he must really be the greatest ever, even tho i never heard of him until now.... fuck outta here

"and your city faded off the brown, nino"
wait waht?? what the fuck does city faded off to brown mean? did he just write that shit to say "nino brown" and id think it was clever?

"she insist she got mo class, we know
swimmin in the money come and find me, nemo"
what the fuck? she insist we got mo class we know just to rhyme nemo to word play swimming in money? waste of my time

"if i was at the club you know i ball, chemo"
wait what the fuck? ball... bald? chemo? chemotherapy? hes in the club like he has cancer? those are just a couple examples of his blatant faggotry

eminem tore his verse the fuck up though and he reminded me of one of the lines he spit in that song kill you

"These mother fuckers are thinking im playing,
Thinking im saying the shit cause im thinking it just to be saying it"

thats all i can really say about drake is hes just playing and saying shit cause hes thinking it just to be saying it. i feel the same way about the rapper 'game'. ive listened to a half dozen of his radio songs and cant remember a single thing he really said, dude raps but doesnt say anything

LOL. it does not matter who you are, people will love and hate you. but considering drake is selling more units than your favorite rapper, it is safe to say he is better. in the end it is about units sold. anybody who thinks otherwise is foolish and or does not sell units.

Well, I agree with you to an extent. He makes better money, but that doesn't mean he's better. He just happens to fit the formula right now and the industry can market him.

Rap is like basketball. Yea, you see dudes on TV playin' for the Lakers, so you assume they might be some of the greatest. But really, some of the nicest players in the world are on the street courts, but just didn't have the opportunity to be seen by the folks that matter.

in the end it is about the end result. The more units you sell, the more shows you do, the more money you make, etc. Everything in this world is about end result. Could of should of would of is not an excuse. Some make it happen and some don't. Life is about playing your cards right. Some see the opportunity while others throw it away. There is no formula, imo. Everything just requires discipline, dedication, and hard work.
