We just had a big layoff at work not to mention the state, it's tough to find a new job around here....I wasn't hit but a few of my friends were. My work is blaming the economy (I work with fiber optics-manufacturing, a sketchy industry to begin with). With the proces jumping on so many things its causing my family to lower our christmas budget and I hear it from so many other people as well

f'real.. last job.. like 2 months ago.. just found out they laid off another group of people from my friend who's still there as a driver.. apparently the first batch wasn't enough.. point is.. don't assume you're safe.

I don't assume that i've been with this company since '01 and been through ~12 layoffs with this company and people thats been here nealry as long or longer got hit, my friend met with the unemployment agency and they said there's been 9 layoffs this month and 15 more to come in the next 2 months here in new mexico

actually i have in a weird sort of a way....this liiquor store by my work, is gettin so much traffic and so many jobless people hangin around it, they cant sell tall cans anymore.....so i have to walk 3 blocks to the next one, and they are raisin the bus passes jan 1st

i lost a ton of money the past 2 months in the stock market. And my pops was laid off a few months ago, job market is dry as fuck out there

i dont go anywhere except downtown and out here here, and i could get a old school if i wanted one, it was funny yall car owners havin to ride the bus wit me cause yall couldnt afford gas to get places....

i got laid off 3 weeks ago, been withe company for 2 years...didnt expect it at all! i was 2 hours into my shift and my desk is right next to the GM's office and he called me in there, and i didnt think anything big cuz im always in there talkin sales and what-not. well he sat me down and read from a prepaired letter from corporate, and basically said they cut out my position and my employment was terminated. they gave me a decent severance package and now im collecting unemployment.

unemployment is aight, but definitly not close to what i was takin in when i was working.

word, my grandma died she got sum $$$ had like 75k in there and lost 22k or so but like you said it will come back she works full time so it aint a big deal i mean honestly even in these fucked up times my family blessed we all got jobs

OT got cut company wide because of the economy and partially since stupid lazy fucks were also abusing the no limit OT. You always have fools trying to mark more hours then they worked. Anyhow this shit is killllllllling my checks.

in this city, without a college degree, there are no jobs besides fast food. and even that, they give you no hours. so im a month and a half behind on rent, and i got no way of making money, except being a taxy cab for the guy down the street when hes drunk, and doing occasional internet jobs. my family isnt even doing gifts this year, everyone is getting cards, and we are gonna just have a little party with some food and movies. pretty lame
