what is "blowin up" ? does it mean being overplayed on MTV so everybody gets fuckin pissed off at you? or showing off the house and cars that your record company rented for you on cribs?

the truth is you can make more money as a succesfull independent artist, if you play it smart, than these fly-by record company slaves that are on top for 3 years and then got nothing... record dont sell anymore so they take "your" shit back

but what comes to signing with a major.. i think it be cool if Strange music signed some kind of a co-operating deal that gave them larger distribution and marketing

I have noticed that signing with major deals ,will take away ur own choice and final say of whats gonna be on the record.
If he did sign,i hope he would do Koch in da paint those artists seem to be free in their makings of music.

yeah but i think it's all good because tech said "if they (majors) want us (strange), they're gonna have to do it our way"

Well to me Strange is a "major label" per say. They dont glamorize the cars and money, or get all commercial on a motherfucker like Snoop did. They basically are about "I am the way I am if you dont like it then Fuck you!!" and I love that. My personality is just that, im a cool laid back person and if you dont like me or what I do Fuck You!! Thats why I like Strange Music and Tech cause they dont give a fuck, they put that shit out there for free and they still making sales and shit. If DMX would have did that he would be more broke then he is now. He got jacked by his label didnt make no money and now he had to leave his label and not finish his contract all because motherfuckers are greedy and Tech aint about that shit. Tech is loyal to his fans, have you ever heard of any major's having in-store signings? Me personally I havent, there is not one person I would go see but Tech, except for 2pac but we know the issue there. I never heard "Come meet Eminem" or "Come meet Dr.Dre" in store before the concert. Hell no they would never do that, thats what sets Tech apart from those motherfuckers. So would we as Tech N9ne fans want the fan love to end? Do we want him to go major and not be able to fucking do an instore signing, or hear the music he wants us to hear and not what MTV or the radio says we should hear? Come on now guys, I love Strange the way it is, believe me I want to see Tech on the Hip Hop awards shows and I want him to perform at the MTV Music awards, but I dont think its worth losing the quality we love about Tech that noone else has.

I remember Tech saying something about how since Lil Flip has a 25 million $$'s record deal, then he thinks that whichever record company wants to sign him must pay atleast pay him $50 million because he already has a company (Strange Music) that is already established with his own website, merchandise, etc. and the record company that signs him doesn't need to all that work and spend alot more money on stuff like that.

bottom line,I believe that record companies want to sign Tech, BUT... it seems like they feel as if $50 million dollars isn't worth spending on Tech....yet, they can cut a $25 million dollar check to Lil' Flip, who WASN'T AS ESTABLISHED as Tech N9ne and Strange Music before getting his record deal.

Yeah, that's it. Tech should IMO, finish his album and shop that bitch. Let them (major label) put up their money on the shows and video and tour shit, and let Tech do his thing. Nuff said!!! They dont need to work with him on his delivery or flow, they dont need to drop a lot more cheese on getting Em or 40 or other big artist to get em on his album, cause he's already done that. So all they need to do is sit back and shut the fuck up, let Tech flood this bitch and it'll be the TECH era, not a crunk era where everyone and they mommas got a crunk album, but a TECH era and let the money flow in.

In theory, MuSiC/Entertainment is his major right now... MSC has a lot of money behind it and the brains to go places, but it seems to me that MSC needs a boot in the ass to get motivated. I can't explain what it is, but Strange Music should not be doing most of the work... that is up to the label above Strange... now Strange and MSC have a 50/50 partnership, but I just get the feeling that not enough marketing is being done. I mean, I understand the focus is getting Tech N9ne on the map in a major way, but Kutt's B.L.E.V.E. album was the best shit I have heard since Absolute Power dropped back in 2002... Kutt Calhoun is "mainstream" rap material... and the last time I checked, "mainstream" was what the record label wanted.

More than anything, I think Travis would be looking for another 50/50 deal with a Major label... but just for marketing and promotional purposes only. Something to catapult Strange Music forward... but I also don't know what kind of stipulations MSC might have over Strange. I would tend to think that Mark Cerami would welcome the help to get his new label established by say Interscope or another label, but maybe I'm wrong. I know at one one point I heard Tech on an interview saying that his label, Strange Music, was looking to hook-up with a Major on his album "Everready" for distribution purposes. I suppose only time wil tell...

here is a aticle on chamillionaire.

"I just signed a multimillion-dollar deal with Universal records," TX's Chamillionaire boasted last weekend in Puerto Rico. "Texas has another hero that's about to stand on that big screen."

Milli's found out that being a heavyweight down South is a whole different ball game from being a universal superstar (no pun intended).

"In Texas we drop 'em big and sell big units," he said. "We live off of mixtapes in Texas. We was making money before in Texas doing the mixtapes, but it really wasn't nothing because it was under the radar. The industry didn't know about it. This year we're coming to the forefront. Everybody is getting deals. It's a beautiful thing that everybody is starting to embrace it."

Cham's The Mixtape Messiah street disc is certified 'hood platinum, and he says that after fielding offers, he felt Universal offered the best of both worlds: money and ownership.

"Somebody can give you a give big check, but at the end of the day, it's all about who really has their faith in you," Chamillionaire explained about his deal. "Then it's so many things [Universal] was budging on. I got a joint venture with them. They didn't give me a regular artist deal. My imprint, Chamilitary, is going to be showing on everything. They gave me a big budget, and I feel they believe in me. They're not gonna be in there telling me how to make my record, I'mma keep it Southern."

Chamillionaire doesn't have a set date for his Universal-assisted release, but he's settled on the title Controversy Sells.

Look for Cham to be talking the talk on his next mixtape, The Mixtape Messiah 2.

"It's only nice that we do it twice," he said. "Now I got a little bit more to talk about. My deal is looking real nice, and I'mma let the world know about it."
