How old are you people complaining about $50, 100, 200 dollars a beat? If i was an artist ( which im not) id put money on whatever i feel is gonna put me in the ranks of more known artists. I like that sayin " you get what you get". Why even trip off fools on soundclick chargin those prices you think are out of your price range. 200 sounds fair for someones work, thats just about how much i charge for 2hrs of my time. My opinion has no meaning cause i aint an artist.
I respect those that have put thier product out, are hustlin moving their units, making moves with others that will give you the legitimate prices; knows what it feels like spending their hard earned cash and feel content after its all said and done. If your sitting and pondering spending your days looking for beats at low prices like tryina get a last minute bid on e bay for somethin dirt cheap, than i suggest you put your time into making a resume and finding a job to put you up on par with your dreams.

Look cuz, get off ur lil ego tripp...az underground artistz we r ALL on da same boat when it comez 2 da struggle of muzik. Juss like da D.U.G.O.U.T. crew, we are establishin' our own record label & we are n' da process of continuin' 2 create n' produce muzik 2 entertain da public. Also, we have spoke 2 several major record labelz n' have kept n' contact wit A&R'z. dBS much like D.U.G.O.U.T. & any otha person on dis forum iz tryin' 2 establish itself n' will continue 2 do so whether U like it or not. If I offended U in any way my intentionz were not 2 do so. I feel your response...but check it, I ain't on some ego trip, I ain't ya "cuz" &...I think you need to do some research on the person I am...I ain't one of these cats on here with an ego who thinks his shit is tight and above everyone else's...I have done more to help folks on this board than most claim too.

And to be BRUTALY honest...we're not all in the same boat, because the fact is there are underground artists/labels who post here who have been doin this for way to long to be put in the same category as others...RIGHT WAY, KILLA VALLEY, WEST COAST MAFIA, STRANGE MUSIC, 40 OUNCE and the list goes on...they've put they money where they mouth is and it's a slap in the face to say they in the same boat...they get they money and they deserve they money.

I never once knocked you, your label or your hustle...I honestly hope everyone get they shine cause there is enough out there for everyone to get breaded up, but "trying" to get established and being established is two HUGELY different thangs...them labels I mention "including" Dugout are established and have been doin it for a while so it's not the same thing.

You never offended me once, I like these topics on this site...they are the reason I stick around through all the bullshit. None of what I said was in disrespect towards you or your crew but I feel I need to step up and make it clear that not everything or every artist/label here is the same...it's just not true.

I'll Co-Sign everything Playa Rae just said. I was once an arrogant young artist too, thinkin' I was on the same level as everybody...but that's just not how it works...reality kicks in once your at it for a while. I'm an artist, I have fans, I have people who look up to me and respect me...but I remember going to the Siccness BBQ and seeing Black C & TayDaTay, and I looked up to them, because I know they are like my "elders" in this game, you gotta respect what they do and what they've done, and realize you aren't there yet!! Now, I'm workin' alongside some vets, learning the game more and more each day, and Playa Rae is one of my "mentors" because he's done more than I have...if I were to blow up before him, I would HAVE to bring him up cause in my eyes he deserves it before I do, for what he's done for folks....ESPECIALLY my label...

so, call this my signature....SYDAL, right on the dotted line!!

much love

my bad ..i understand that most artist have done this longer..and in no way was i knokin you..or any one...out of respect ..we are very different when it comes to how long we've been doing this...i just took it out of text when i read the first few post from you...yes we are "trying" to establish our lable and music carrers if any..but as artist you all were once "freshmen"..and continued to establish your companies..and much love on that...you are where you are because of hard work...and I also want to do the same for our lable...just because some of us are not established yet doesnt mean we dont understand the rap game...my whole point was that the underground weather established (known) or not should not disrespect the contents of eachother character...merry xmas..much love..continue to carry on...

to end this off...we complain about the prices of JUST BEATS CUZ ITS A JEP....Yes you are right if the beat hot the song hot..but..its not just the beat man...its the hook..its the heart...overall theres a new breed of artist...and this new breed ..is not taking away from the vets..the problem with the beats is crazy ...ive heard prices thrown as much as 5oo$..and the producer has made the beat within 3o mins to an hour..come on..i can get a 50$ to 100$ beat thats hot...its not fair to an artist pockets..yea sure for 3oo$ itd be great with production, mixing, mastering..but half the time the deal doesnt include that...beats can get you so far...take the weakest rapper have him waste his money on hot beats..what ya got at the end...a lame product...but take a strong rapper and put him on a $50 hot beat or even an ok beat..what you got...a nice product...for example the late great tupac..his beats were not always hot..but as an artist he made the songs hot...its not what you use..its what ya no...sure fruityloops is shit to a triton..but overall its the artist who connect to the public..not the beats...and yes D.U.G.O.U.T.. HAS MY RESPECT...AND YES I HAVE SPOKE TO A&R'S AND WHAT THE INDUSRY/RECORD COMPANIES WANT IS FOR THE ARTIST TO BE ON POINT WITH THE PRODUCT AND WITH THAT COMES A DEADLINE TO MEET...

if you a producer you will get your name out more if you sale beats for like $50 $80 and get more MC buying em then saling to 1 MC for $200...PEACE
LOL no, you'll just get more garbage emcees who are using their allowance money to pay for beats. It takes money to make money. That's like saying if you have the skills of someone who could be earnin $30 an hour doing some technical shit, just take $7 an hour because it will be easier to find a job....That's bullshit

Now I DO agree that new cats need to start out by either sellin for cheap or GIVING tracks away. That's how I got on with alot of big names in the Bay. But it paid off.

Point is, I been doin it too long and have too much faith in my shit to be undercuttin like that. Go ahead and buy beats for $50 but that's exactly what you're gonna get...a FIFTY DOLLAR BEAT....Kind of like a $50 paintjob

TRUE I RESPECT THAT YOU HAVE BEEN DOING THIS 4 DAYS ...BUT ..JUST BECAUSE YOU BUY 50$ BEATS COMPARED TO 3OO$ BEATS ..DONT MEAN THE PRODUCT AINT BETTER THEN THE DUDE THAT SPENT 3OO$ PER BEAT..YOU MIGHT CREATE A BIGGER BUZZ OFF YA SHIT ...YEA YOU RIGHT MC'S THESE DAYS ARE BUYING BEAT WITH ALLOWANCE MONEY BUT THAT DONT MEAN THEY HAVNT BEEN BUYING BEATS OFF SOME DUDE WHO JUST GOT REASON HOOKED UP AND IS CHARGIN 2OO$ PLUS...
I RESPECT YA 4 DOING THIS LONG...AND IF U FEEL YOUR SHIT CAN SELL FOR 5OO$ PLUS..THEN DO IT...GET YA MONEY HOMEY...
BUT MOST MC'S CAN SHOP AROUND AND FIND BETTER DEALS..

LOL. WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? I READ THE WHOLE FIRST PAGE & NOT ONE POST WAS TALKING ABOUT BEATS THAT HAVE BEEN DOWNLOADED A MILLION TIMES. MAYBE YOUR TALKING ABOUT WHATS GOING ON IN YOUR HEAD BUT I THINK YOU NEED TO READ BEFORE YOU POST. OBVIOSLY A BEAT THAT HAS BEEN DOWNLOAD A MILLION TIMES AINT WORTH $200..SHIT IT AINT WORTH A PENNY IF ITS BEEN USED BEFORE. THATS COMMON SENSE..THAT AINT WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT & I DON'T SEE ANYBODY ELSE TALKING ABOUT THAT. I SEE PEOPLE SAYING $200-$300 BEATS ARE TOO EXPENSIVE. I'M SAYING THAT BEATS MAKE OR BREAK YOUR PROJECT....IF MY FAVORITE RAPPER CAME OUT WITH A CD & THE BEATS WHERE WEAK AS FUCK I WOULDNT BUY THE SHIT. PEOPLE NEED TO START REALIZING HOW IMPORTANT YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD BEATMAKER/PRODUCER IS... MERRY CHRISTMAS.. 1

This post is the real deal... Putting worth to music is a factor of many things. Name, quality, uniqueness, and originality.... Now that we all know just about anyone can buy a Triton, or Trinity for $800-1200 used you have 100K beatmakers charging $20-100K for beats with varying quality.... Shit to gold and everything inbetween... Since popularity and purchases are the fuel to the music industry.. Th slapshack.com (in construction) website will provide an outlet for the buyer to dictate the pricing of the music (once past the minimum asking price) The producer stays in the background until time expires for the sale.. Similar to Ebay but different because popularity will earn YOU REWARDS!!!!! More info coming soon!!
