I would think if he matured he would stop rapping about shooting people.
So actors like Sylvester Stalone, Joe Pesi, Robert DeNiro etc. should not make violent movies anymore either? Mature meaning Cube knows how to separate it from his real life much like them actors do.

People here are speaking about "keeping it real" like we're still in the 90's.

Movies are just a source of income and irrelevant to his music or "maturity". Not only that, but all these years of rapping and no development in your subject matter? Still rapping about the same shit that you were 20 years ago? His movie roles and real life aside, he's just gotten stale.

I'm sorry but Ice Cube lost it ever since he started makin movies. He doesn't have that determination in his delivery anymore.
I feel that. His flow sounds so forced and lazy like he's not really into it his last few albums. I could give a fuck about what movies he makes or how "reputable" he is.

Irrelevant to his music or maturity? His music is also a source of income. It always has been. Why did he depart from NWA?

Still rapping the same subject matter?

So what's everybody complaining about that Cube has sold out?

It's all based on opinions & to each his or her own, but one thing we can all agree on is that his money is far from stale.

People still expect their rappers to be real killers and shit? Come on they make it up for your entertainment. You seriously expect Ice Cube to be killin fools cuz he's Too Westcoast?

On another note. I didn't like this. I thought the beat was lame and the raps even lamer.

Naw but if you say you from somewhere I expect you to be from there. Don't say you're from South Central but you grew up in Woodland Hills.

The first War & Peace album is dope as fuck and Laugh Now Cry Later was a great comeback album. and Raw Footage had some gems in it too. Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It, It Takes A Nation, Jack N The Box, Better Get Used To It, Get Money Spend Money No Money, Hood Mentality

i dont care if he does kids movies, he's just making more money, so more power to him.
I agree, I think the first war & peace is a classic, so many great tracks on it.

CO-SIGN

and when he got snatched out the car that was cause he said some "disrespectful" things having to do with the N.O.I.
I thought that incident was 'cause Cube had beef with Kam over money and the fact that he knew that the "W" he was throwin up stood 4 Watts and as we all know he ain't from there? The story went that Kam's homeboy Solo caught him in traffic they got 2 arguin and then Solo whupped his ass and took his chain. The next night he flashed it onstage at a Cypress Hill show @ House Of Blues and took a picture....

Some of you taking the rap shit too serious. I agree with Gemini, so because you dont live what you rap, your a punk or a fake punk? Dude its entertainment...seriously wow. Also here is a few more tracks off this album that were dope as hell. This whole album was pretty tight in general.

I respect Ice Cube as a rapper, businessman, entertainer, actor....etc....I just feel like certain topics should be off limits if you ain't bout it. If Drake starting talking about gangbanging and shooting what would yall say? I know Cube ain't as soft as Drake, but the same thing applies.

Cube aint from woodland hills, he's from 1e11 NHC neighborhood in WS S/C LA. ANd besides people hatin on em I heard from some older nuetral -as in not haters- cats that he banged the set for a little while. Cube dont rap about slangin dope and all that BS he rap about bein the don mega, the west, how the hood got issues, and if you fuck with his he'll fuck you up...you dont gotta be a killer to feel that way or understand that.

but on the bangin shit I don't know fo sure he contradicts himself throughout his raps with that, and some vouch some dont...most likely an affiliate.

I heard Cube on TV say that he grew up in Woodland Hills. I can't remember what I was watching I think it was a talk show.....Maybe he lived in both places iono know.
