If you know anything about Bay-area rap, then you know what I'm referencing in part of the title. But I'm not using 'saved' in the same sense as E-40's mobb classic, "Captain Save..." I'm speaking of being 'saved' as it regards to your relationship to Jesus Christ.
Although I was raised in a Christian household, I really didn't get into Christianity seriously until 1998. That's when I really started trying to find out what Christianity meant and who Jesus Christ was, and what I was supposed to be doing in regards ot a relationship with Him. I'm not posting these threads for argument or debate, simply as my experiences and point of view to help or enlighten someone else. I'll try to explain Christianity somewhat and debunk a few myths and whatnot concerning my religion.
How do you get saved? According to the Bible in Romans 10:9, there is only one way to be saved: ...if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Contrary to popular belief, you can't be saved by doing good deeds or be not sinning, those things are a sign that you are saved, but to be saved, all you have to do is believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He has risen from the dead, and you will be saved.
What does being saved mean? Salvation means that when you die, you will be guaranteed a place in Heaven because you accepted the gift God gave to man by sending His Son Jesus Christ do die in our place for our sinful condition. That means that when you accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour, anything you've ever done or will do have been forgiven. It's like the old saying goes, "what goes around comes around." All the things that we do in this life, someone must pay for it, it's a law of nature. Through Jesus Christ, we don't have to pay for our wrongs ourselves, He died in our place. For those who don't accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour, they will have to pay for their sins on their own, and that is payment is due in Hell.
My little brother got killed in 2002 at the age of 20. Before he died, I spoke with him about what it meant to be saved and to accept Jesus Christ. We never had a conversation about it after that and he never got baptized, and never stopped hustling or doing what he did in the streets. When he did, however, I prayed to God and asked Him to send me a sign that my brother was saved. On the day of the funeral, it rained all morning, but when I got up to speak, it looked like the sun was shining outside. That was my confirmation that at some point, he had accepted Christ as his Lord & Saviour. See, although he was saved when he died, because he couldn't shake his desire for the street and fast money, the Lord had to take him out before he got worse. He didn't lose his salvation, but he lost his chance to live the life God made him for. Our choices affect our quality of life.
How can you say someone is saved even though they are still doing negative things? Salvation doesn't come from good works, good works come from salvation. You can't stop lying, fornicating, smoking, hustling or do anything that you're not supposed to be doing without being saved first. There are plenty of people who don't kill, lie or steal, but that doesn't mean they are saved, that just means that they don't kill, lie or steal, but they are still going to Hell if they don't believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. On the same token, if a person is trying to live right, but keeps falling to the same traps, that doesn't mean they aren't saved. We all our human and God knows that, He can see your heart, and if you have a desire to do what's right, He can see it. That does not include a person who knows what is right and chooses not to do what is right. There is a very big difference between a person who is trying to do right, but their human nature casues them to fall sometimes, and a person who knows what is right, but doesn't care, they want to do what they want to do.
Isn't life supposed to get easy once you get saved?
That's not always the case. God never said that we will not have problems or issues in life. In fact, some problems or issues may seem to worsen when we get saved. Problems come to build our faith and to grow our relationship with God. Our problems may not change, but through Jesus Christ, the way we look at them will change, and eventually, we will overcome whatever the problem is through Jesus Christ.
Christianity is the white man's religion that supported slavery. That is a lie from satan. First of all, Cush, modern-day Ethiopia, was one of the first and largest Christian countries in the world. Their belief in Christ, came far before European countries. Furthurmore, Africans can trace their heritage back to Noah's son Ham, who migrated to the continent of Africa after the flood. The Bible does not support racism or slavery, it instructs humans to treat one another like brothers.
All of the pictures I see of Christ are of white men.
Has the artist ever Jesus? That's another lie to disenfrancise Blacks and Latinos to believe that Christianity is soley a white religion. You need to study and see what the people in the region looked like when Christ lived. Christ is not like the pictures you see displayed prominently. Furthermore, it really doesn't matter what He looked like. If you recognize that ethinc and racial differences come from environment then you will see how ridiculous it is to argue over what color Jesus is. Humans adapt to their surrounding over thousands of years, and creates characteristics. Black's have darker skintones because the melanin in their skin provided protection from the sun in Africa. On the other had, Europeans lack melanin because of the climate in Europe.
In the end, the Bible tells us that 'every knee will bow and every person will say that Jesus Christ is the Lord.' You have the choice to say that now while you still live, or when you die in the Great Judgement, either way you will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

If you're excuse for people doing fucked up shit is that they haven't been "saved," I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to disagree with that.

How do you get to be king? According to the Satanic Bible in Book Of Satan 1:9, there is only one way to be king: ...if you confess with your lips that Satan is Lord and believe in your heart that YOU raised him from the dead, you will be king. Contrary to popular belief, you can't be king by doing good deeds or be not sinning, those things are a sign that you are king, but to be king, all you have to do is believe that Satan is the Master of YOU, and that He has risen from the dead, and you will be king.
What does being king mean? King means that when you die, you will be guaranteed a throne in Hell because you accepted the gift YOU gave to man by sending YOUR Master Satan to rise in our place for our simple condition. That means that when you accept Satan as your Master, anything you've ever done or will do have been forgiven. It's like the old saying goes, "what goes around comes around." All the things that we do in this life, someone must pay for it, it's a law of nature. Through Satan, we don't have to pay for our wrongs ourselves, He smiles in our place. See how else this could go?

Wow, those were the good ol' days!!!

True, Jesus never claimed to be the son of God and told people specifically NOT to worship him! He simply called others to the oneness of God, and to worship God alone without any partners. But this ain't the time and place, so I'm not gonna get into it.

Jewish Ancestry.

And yes, it matters very much. You sucker atheists are just waiting for a leader for your movement, and you'll probably never find them. And why? Because nobody but hippie-ass, middle-class college students admire atheism.

Most of the world hates each other, but the one thing we do agree on: Atheism is for nobodies.

JOHN 3:16-17 NKJ

JOHN 10:36 NKJ
36 "do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, `You are blaspheming,' because I said, `I am the Son of God'?

JOHN 8:28 NKJ
28 Then Jesus said, ". . . I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.

MATTHEW 28:18 NKJ
18 Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

"1 plus 1 plus 1 equals 3/
How can you justify this, you paganistic preach?/
Take Jesus Christ (pbuh) for instance--blasphemy!/
Teachin he's the son of the God of all you see/
He's a blessed prophet and a sign from the wise..."
-Mac Money

Very astute.
If you're going to pray, pray to God. Not an intermediary. Not a prophet. Not a man. GOD alone.

mo-x for every passage that claims that Jesus is the son of God, I can show you many more that proves he wasn't.

Check it out...

"Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know" (Acts 2:22)

"By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me" (John 5:30)

These 2 verses clearly explains that God performed these miracles through Jesus. These miracles were not the work of Jesus alone, but he performed them through the will of God.

Here's another one:

"Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God" (1 Corinthians 11:3)

This verse is showing that Jesus is lesser (in status) than God, and is nowhere near the level of perfection as the All-Mighty.

The Disciples never referred to Jesus as God either. They always used the title God to refer to someone else other then Jesus.

Peep:

"The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus." (Acts 3:13).

This verse is stating that Jesus was merely a servant of God and not his only Begotten Son.

"When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. "Sovereign Lord," they said, "you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them" (Acts 4:24)

It's obvious in this verse that they were not praying to Jesus, cause 3 verses later they referred to Jesus as "your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed."

(Acts 4:27)
"Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed"

About Jesus referring to God as "Father"

I got this from another website but it illustrates my point exactly...

1. Jesus Is God Because He Claimed To Be The Son Of God

In the language of the Hebrew Bible, righteous persons who follow the Will and Plan of God are known as Sons Of God.

"Adam, which was the Son Of God." Luke 3:38

"The Sons Of God saw the daughters of men... And the Sons Of God came in unto the daughters of men..." Genesis 6:2,4

"Israel is My Son, even my first born." Exodus 4:22

"...for I (God) am a Father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn." Jeremiah 31:9

"The Lord hath said unto me (David), Thou art My Son this day have I Begotten thee." Psalms 2:7.

Also Matthew 5:9; Romans 8:14 etc.

Son Of God is a nothing but a metaphorical description commonly used among the Jews.

2. Jesus Is God Because He Is God's Only Begotten Son?

The most widely translated sentence on earth is said to be Jesus' statement of John 3:16,

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son..."

Christians wish to say that the word Only Begotten (Monogenis) gives Jesus a special status among all the Sons of God.

However, not all Bibles translate the passage with this key word because some translators have seen the difficulty this causes.

The same word translated as Only Begotten is found at Hebrews 11:17. In this verse the word refers to Isaac. The Bible itself shows that Isaac's older brother Ishmael outlived his father (Genesis 25:9). Therefore, at no time was Isaac, strictly speaking, the only begotten of Abraham.

In the case of Isaac the Church explains that "only-begotten" is not to be understood strictly but must be modified. However, no such modification is allowed in the case of John 3:16.

The definition of the word Christ

The Greek word “Christ” is a human title. It means “Anointed.” If Jesus was God, why would the disciples continually refer to him with human titles like servant and Christ of God, and consistently use the title God for the one who raised Jesus? Did they fear men? No! They boldly preached the truth fearing neither imprisonment nor death. When they faced opposition from the authorities, Peter declared: “We must obey God rather than men! The God of our fathers raised Jesus...” (Acts 5:29-30).

In conclusion: Jesus was not the son of God and never once laid claim to it. He was the Messiah (or Messenger) who simply called others to the Oneness of God, and to worship God alone without ascribing any partners to him (which was a common practice back then).

Anyway I'm just gonna stop here. I shouldn't have got into this cause this ain't the time and place for it, but I just wanted to clarify my point. My bad to D-Sane, but to those cats who are probably gonna say "Get this religious shit outta here, this ain't church" either don't read the post or click your Back button. Peace I'm out
