COME ON NOW, THIS BAY SHIT IS AT AN ALL TIME LOW. WHAT HAPPENED TO KMEL SUPPORTING THEIR LOCAL ARTISTS? AINT THAT PART OF WHAT THEIR SUPPOSED TO DO AS A LOCAL STATION? WHAT HAPPENED TO PLAYING ALL BAY SHIT LATE NIGHT ONLY, THAT WAS BETTER THAN NOTHING. I THINK IT WAS CALLED CHOPSHOP OR SOMETHING, I REMEMBER YALL PLAYED JACKA-GET OUT THERE, MESS-GET ON MY HYPE, MAC DRE, RBL, CELLSKI, KEAK, QUINN, ALL THAT,,

THATS PART OF THE REASON WHY THIS REGION WAS STARTING TO BUBBLE UP, CAUSE WE HAD RADIO SUPPORT.. WHERE YOU AT? BOX KEV???? ANYONE??

and foos don't know how to make a radio edit no more, they acting like its really gonna kill them to cut alternate vocals if they know that shit is gonna be a single. your single is called "fucking bitches and killing niggas" and wonder why it ain't gettin radio airplay



people got too stupid with the hyphy movement too....every hook is the same as all the rest saying go dumb get stupid or whatnot. people didn't just expand off the idea, the just recycled the idea 90893498273 times

i think we have a ton of artist that do make those songs(radio) from allover the bay . but they get over looked for a more recognizable face. it seems like we are counting on older artist to do this when it should be the young dudes trying instead of wait to ride e40's wave.

Kmel is coo...compared to Wild 94.9....Kmel plays that old school set of like early 80's-early 90s rap..then they got that Westside Wednesdays ...I cant fuckin stand T-Man's voice..dude sounds like a redneck...

Corporate radio..payolla..clear channel..whatever you want to call it.....corporate radio stations never really 'supported' local artists they do it cause they have to...they would reather play Top 40 so they can get paid...

Want a station that supports the Bay artist/Sac artist/Centeral Valley Artist...check us out mayne...we got nothin but commercial free Northern Cali Slaps all day everyday...and we also have our own orginal programming with artist doing thier own shows...

^Just a theory of mine (don't hold me to it): but KMEL belongs to Clear Channel and Clear Channel basically has a quota on what songs/how many times their affiliated stations can play them. It's all about the paper. KMEL can slip some local shit in, say in a mix or on a segment in a particular program, but when they do play it, don't expect it to be during their peak listening hours (morning or when people are coming home from work/school). Most of the time you'll hear bay stuff is when it's mid-day, late-night, or if Rick Lee or another DJ is mixing.

The station has a set for each time slot and a list of songs they "HAVE" to play, then the Dj can throw in a few of their own. The thing is purchase a commercial and you will get added (Legal form of a Payola). Honestly if you want your record spun a few times in the prime time slots purchase radio commercials. Every aspect of this industry of which we call a game isn't a game, it is a business and these companies which are run for profit want your money for their service.

I guarentee you make a hit record KMEL and any other radio station will play it. Quit putting the blame on radio for local artist not being on there. Name 1 hit song that you think people wanna hear that is not on the radio????
