when i first got at&t@home in like 99 or 2000, i had a 10mb connection and it was all nearly to myself cause no one in the neighborhood cable internet. that shit was blazing fuckin fast, then they changed to something else then they changed to comcast or some bullshit. nowadays shit is split up and slowed down among a packed neighborhood.

its a shame that in the U.S. the internet is kind of going backwards, they charge you more and more for less and less. they tell you they upgraded their speed, but a speed increase only means they loosened their belt a little after getting a ton more customers. the speed will be less than years before it, unless you're one of the lucky people who lives where no one else has cable internet.

i think in south korea everybody is on free fiber optic internet now. shit blows our shitty cable providers out of the water. the internet is on the same selling theory as computers and everything else in retail. why give you the absolute best there is for cheap when they can charge you a lot for a mediocre product, that has the steady illusion of being improved year after year (i.e. computers, phones etc). at least internet isnt billed by data useage like in canada and other shitty countries (yet, that is)
