How good are Herm's albums? I saw em at Rasputins but I wasn't sure if they were good enough to purchase.

Yup. If you don't have it, get it. Immediately.

The only other Herm comps I've actually heard are TRYIN' TO SURVIVE IN THE GHETTO 2000 and BACK IN STRIDE AGAIN. They don't come close to approaching the quality of TRYIN TO SURVIVE, but they have some dope cuts (as comps go). The only part of these CDs that I don't like is when Herm actually tries to rap himself. LOL! Basically, neither CD will become a coaster, but you probably won't find the urge to play either one as much as you play the original TRYIN' TO SURVIVE. Just my opinion, though...

I haven't heard WE MADE IT HAPPEN or HERM: SOLO ALBUM, but most people I spoke to didn't have very many good things to say about those, so proceed w/ caution.

Herm 1 and 2 are must haves. Herm 2 had some heaters on it including one of the best Dre Dog songs ever, "Crooked Crow".

i agree, those first two "trying to survive.." and "still trying to survive.." are some of the best bay comps out there,
