Rap overal is at it's lowest EVER@
Smartest thing anyone has said yet...

I honestly think no one is in this to make good music anymore, it seems like they just turn out 10 new "slappers" every week with shit lyrics and and a beat that you may like at first but after about 2 days, you will be regreting ever listenin to that crap. Its all about, who can make more songs to make more money, regardless of the quality of the song. And its not just the newcomers,Mac Dre and the others are all guilty of doin it too. You can tell which songs were written and thought out and what songs were thrown together in a couple of hours. Its sad too, I was lookin forward to the bay blowin up and havin good new shit comin out everyweek, but luckily it seems like everyone else has realized the same thing I have and has stopped promoting it so much. And as far as rap in general bein at an all time low, I think I heard someone on here talkin about how the down south shit sounds all the same, and I totally agree, they have the same exact thing goin on there, people gettin greedy and tryin to turn shit out as quick as possible. Honestly how could you possibly put out 5 albums in one year, and still say that you put time, effort, and thought in to your records. It doesnt work.

Id hafta say that some good stuff does still come out from all over the map, but that only accounts for 10 percent of what comes out, 90 percent of it is crap.
The only rapper that I still have crazy respect for and puts his all into every record, every song, and every flow, Tech N9ne, greatest rapper to ever set foot on this earth, I know im in the bay section, but I dont think ANYONE gives him the credit he deserves, and no ever has.

Peace

Hyphy is so dead it's pathetic - when every person that jumps on a bandwagon has the exact same song title for every single fuckin song, you got a problem.

yo Gabe...would the rap game be different if the bay rappers would've checked the rap game before it got saturated?

i personally think the bay area rap game took a fall when all these small town rappers came out and what not....

and yes hyphy is wack IMO ....5000 rappers making the same song with the same beat.."SCRAPIN" ...

no wonder why i been listening to super underground hip hop music lately..

Kenn Starr...Kev Brown...Phat Kat...Murs...and etc....

yeah, i was dissapointed the other day, i saw that balance had a song with the word "dumb/stupid/hyphy" or somethin along the lines and i thought to myself, well, it has officially gone way over getting outta hand. haha. it was cool to mention those words every now and then, but now its so obvious to see that every song has to have that title "Hyphy/Dumb/Stupid/Thizz" and all that shit. fuck it, it will be over soon enough, its like a pot ready to boil over and everybody will be sick of it.

and on Quinn. that fool is always good to listen to because he always does Quinn.

This article is %1000 correct.

The bay is its own worst enemy. We so bent on sayin we got the most game and we got the independent game on lock, when in actuality its the exact opposite. We dont have the most game and we definitely dont have the indy game on lock at all. Every other regions indy game is sellin way more than ours and the last time i check we haven't innovated anything lately in the industry. Its seems for the last 10 years Bay artist been in denial about how great and successful they actually are as an artist. They've gotten so caught up in the whole "stay independent" shit that they lost all business know how and ability to succeed nationally. Most artist think that just cuz they have a single and a buzz in the bay that they rule the world and can dictate their own futures with labels. They're sadly mistaken and are just addin more reasons for labels not to fuck with the bay. The days of the bay havin great business minded artist has come and gone. Cats act as if they wanna venture out and escape the box of the Bay but think they can go about it with the same close minded indy approach thats been losin for years. Fact of the matter is our own arrogance, lack of creativity, business sense, and regional mind set is the reason why continue to fumble.

Its time for Bay artist to wake up and start bein innovative business men like the days of old. If we dont we'll be in the same spot, talkin bout the same things forever. 100

i've been sayin this shit forever!... THE BAY LOST ITS HUSTLE! simple as that!... 40 water basically gave the bay all the shine ver in the world (the south, atl, houstin, even new york never got the coverage the bay did) but nobody did shit... quinn released his album a month before 40, dumb, and nobody but zion-i followed him! and zion-i isnt the type who wants to blow up on mtv and shit... rappers like mistah fab and keak and ya boy and balance and turf talk and shit load of over rappers needed that light, but did nothin when 40 shined it on them.... THE BAY LOST ITS HUSTLE!! plain and simple...

will bronson ends the article on point. all yall muthafuckas putting out "hyphy" songs need to step it up. listen to your shit and listen to the next mans... youll find a lot of the same shit. hyphy needs to evolve instead of being stuck as the same shit but at the same time "hyphy" is young in music terms

wassup yall. I'm that artist formely hated on "Frank Manip" I aim my music at being original but maintain that bay mob life. The response was hatin and cock blockin. Now peep, if our problem is the lack of originality it comes from the lack of exceptance. Now check this. How we going to get further if no one wants to invest in or even listen to new talent. Check this, our artist are ignorant to succesful investing and rather rob somebody for a 10 sack then sale them a key. Where does that get us. Also these major lables hatin on us they are scared to do buisness with us cause we like to kill each other over nuthin. Can you blame a million doller boss who wont reach out to a clown ass nickle dealin chump, who rather take their advance and buy a couple pounds of grapes or even plot on robbin you instead of expanding distribution. I aint trippin cause I stay heated ( Bay Life) trust me, but what about buisness squares. I'm live and direct wit mainstream street cred. I know Established Rappers From Sac to Frisco who aint gettin shit cause they still runnin around pimpin hoes and bubblin off small shit. I'm gonna bring it back . Now alot of est labels know who Frank Iacini is, we on Family Buisness (ya betta ask some body) but that dont mean shit cause3 new artist cant emerge if hatin is the buisness. I always said the bay is a bunch of crabs in a bucket. Buy a House befor you buy even a fuckin $20,000.00 car. Get at me at Frank Manip @ myspace. I'm bringin street cred fuck hoppin on dicks
