No doubt Deion had coverage, but he couldn't takle a pillow. I remember him always tryin to push people outta bounds. And Ronnie Lott could take 3 motherfuckers outta the game (With the help of the ambulance)

The 94 Niners averaged over 40 points a game? Is that stat correct? 40 points on average? And then when they get to the SuperBowl, Steve Young throws for 6 TD's? That squad is the best in my opinion, the 89 Niners are real close.

See, I have almost the entire season on VHS. I'm studied that shit. I've never, ever seen a team dominate defensively as badly as da bears have.
Fixed....

lets take a look at the numbers....
'85 Chicago Bears
Jim McMahon 56.9 comp % 2392 yards 15 TD's and 11 Int's
Walter Payton 1551 yards and 9 TD's 49 rec 483 yards 2 td's
Emery Moorhead was there leading reciever not named payton with a whopping 35 catches 481 yards...the great Willie Gault had 33 catches for 704 yards...minus Walter Payton those are mediocre numbers for a dominant offense...

'89 San Francisco 49ers
Joe Montana 70.2 comp % 3521 yards 26 td's 8 int's
Roger Craig 1054 yards 6 Td's 49 rec 473 yards 1 td
Jerry Rice 82 rec 1483 yards 17 td's
John taylor 60 rec 1077 yards 10 td's

now im tryin to take anything away from the bears...they were no doubt thr greatest defensive juggernaut ever assembled...there defense that year set them up with many short fields, they had like 27 fumble recoveries and 34 int's...but they werent the total package the 49ers were...we can go back and forth on this til we are blue in the face but just know i watched both teams play and can do research, so im not one of these fuck the bears cats...its nothin but respect..

Nothing against the Bears but that Ravens defense in 2000 was the best i've seen! All they needed was one big play from Shannon Sharpe a game and for the offense not turn the ball over and it was a wrap.

Dog, you're comparing a good offense to a great offense, when da bears were known for their great defense. throw up the defensive stats if you want to accurately compare STATS, which don't tell the hole story. Oooh, wow, they scored a lot of touchdowns, yaay, might as well vote for the Rams then.

again, go to my post you ignored. how old were you in 85? How many full games of the 85 bears have you watched?

god damn n9ners fans. All the credible polls and rankings like on ESPN, etc the n9ners don't even make the top 3. It's always BEARS or 72 Dolphins first, then Steelers, etc. n9ners are lucky if they even crack the top 5.

Yeah and you really think ESPN is credible too? Opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one. And outside of the westcost most people would not pick the 9ers.

You are fucking INSANE!!! You were 8 years old watching bears defense and in your 20's or so watching the ravens. You're telling me at 8 you could accurately annalyze wtf chicago's defense was doing? lmao.

Plus, you cannot compare a team from 15 years prior in today's x's and o's. Chicago revolutionized the 46 defense. No one had seen it before like this. Offenses had NO WAY of stopping the pass rush, they simply were not built for it. As time went on, offenses changed the entire way they played the game because of the 46 and now it's not as effective as it was back then. You have to take that into consideration. And that's why their defense is considered the best ever - it was revolutionary, not too mention the amount of skill, hall of famers, etc on that squad.

For the people saying the 94 Niners were better than they 89 Niners, in that 94 Super Bowl, they played the Chargers who had NO DEFENSIVE BACKFIELD!!! Everyone knew it was going to be a blowout!!! 89 Niners had a better running attack, better offense, and IMO, a better team. As far as me picking the 85 Bears, if Montana and the Niners figured out the 46 D, then game over, period, but I just think that D was too good. Granted the quick passing of the Best Coast offense would give the Bears problems, but I think they would've overcame and pulled it out.
